A company I worked for once hired an IIT Tech grad as a QA lead, and paid him 120K/year salary. He was one of the absolute dumbest people I've ever worked with, totally incompetent, and was let go after a few months.

I'll give you a take from a professor's end. I teach in an engineering school, and we get transfers from ITT. One time in lab a student was struggling with the use of an oscilloscope. I asked her what the problem was, showed her how to synch the signal and measure what she wanted. She was an ITT transferee and told me the instructors there didn't know how to use a scope.... This is on the electrical engineering side. Many of them drop out or go back to ITT.

On our computer networks side (we have a BS in computer network systems), very few make it, as they are daunted by having to retake many of the ground level courses that wouldn't transfer.
