btw I did download AIM 5 expecting i'd find AIM+ 3 somewhere, but i didn't...

the new interface is alright... don't see any new features... maybe I'm missing something?

Anyways, the big advantage is that AIM does not lag like a bitch anymore when I use a 3D program. Why older AIM lagged before I have no idea, but finally i can talk to people and work on my 3d

There are noticable differences when comparing AIM 4.x vs AIM 5.x such as the introduction of the ability to skin AIM now, and more importantly the Typing Indicator which tells you when a buddy is typing to you.

I think it was pretty stupid of them to make a big announcement on the launch date of AIM+ 3.0. They should have just released when it was finished and not worried about "doing something special for AIM+'s birthday" or whatever. They had to know that by making a specific release time they would be hammered all at once. If they would have just quietly released it, all would have been fine.

So I dunno if it was pure ignorance or just plain stupidity, but they made a mistake by going about it like they did. The site is still down and nobody, I mean NOBODY has any clue as to what is going on.

but yeah it's been awhile since aim5 came out and now the site isn't working
i've been waiting impatiently myself along with many others who are as clueless as almost everyone else.

What about the possibility that AIM+ 3.0 does not exist yet? Someone pointed out on another site that mySQL error message aren't ouputted "MySQL" like on the big-o site but "mySQL". So one could surmise that the page is something the AIM+ authors put up...

This could be as much fun as the drama that unfolded in Hot Deals about "cyberwings"... lol

Yeah, I find it funny... People on the AIM+ forums were concerned about the release being too big for the site to handle and offered possible solutions to the problem, but the people from Big-O-Software kept saying how they were confident in their site and that it would be able to handle the release. I can't wait to try out the new version, and I can't wait for their explanation as to why they missed the release date. =P

yeah, cant wait either.. wonder what they're going to say about there site being down due to an "Unknown MySQL error"..
