Did any websites successfully cast a Pentium-M into a desktop board yet?

The Pentium-M is slated for blade servers so I figured surely someone has figured out how to mate them to a S478 board by now. Anyone?

Hopefully we'll see one of these chips in an ES version that allows for it to be mated to an 800fsb or better to see if it makes any performance jumps. It would be oh so interesting to see Dothan on the desktop at full P4 front-side bus...

The problem with the FSB boost is the multiplier. The multiplier would limit going that high unless they bought special models from Intel.

Madrat: There's no way in heck Intel is going to mate the P-M to a 800mhz bus. It simply drains too much power.

Much of the reason why the Pentium-M conserves so much power is because it shuts down the bus when it isn't using it.

Never say never. If Prescott doesn't end up sub-100W thermal disipation then you just may see a desktop version emerge.

Besides, MS wants a media center CPU in a bad way. The media center CPU would need a high bus speed but not necessarily a high clock speed. The lower overall clock speed for the processor would lend itself more to passive cooling, too.
