Don't forget how GW said a few hours later how he talked to Dick Cheney on the phone and "his voice was strong and vibrante". He also said Dick "healthy". THis was while KNOWING that Mr. Cheney was about to have or had already done a medical procedure on his heart. He also told the press the Dick did not have a heart attack. He wanted to put Dick's attack as just a few heart spasms, not a threatening problem in order to put a good healthy spin on it.

How can anybody believe what he says? This is called "telling a lie" in my book.

4824guy: Stop the political BS on this one would ya? The doctors at GWU medical center didn't even think he'd had a heart attack until a second MRI later confirmed what they called a "mild heart attack". Incidentally, is a "mild" heart attack kinda like being "slightly" pregnant?? ;)

Hoping for a quick recovery for a good man....

Air it out correctly gentlemen, Dick Cheney has already had previous heart attacks and a quad bypass, this is not cool that he had yet another one. How smart can he be (Bush) after 2 DUI's, 20 yr long smoking habit 3 heart attacks and a quad bypass to pick such a health risk for such an important post. Liberal my arse, thems the facts Dan........

Larry King had Cheney on the phone yesterday. He sounded strong and was optimistic. When asked if he could handle the job of US VP, Cheney said yes.

Red,

That sounds like an imperial King and Queen pairing. Last I checked we're still able to decide on our own Royalty. Therefore, the idea is corny.

btw how is "compassionate conservatism" and different from "compassionate liberalism"? Both sides feel your pain for their gain. It's all marketing BS and propaganda. You want to be compassionate? Cut my freakin' taxes, spend what you do take wisely, and provide only useful programs.

When my father had a heart attack his doctor told him he had a minor one. So my dad asked whats the difference between a major and a minor. The doctor said "you live through a minor and you don't with a major".

When I first heard this news, one question popped into my mind: What if he had died? Would Bush just be able to pick someone else without going to the polls?

squirrel dog,

Exactly what does his intelligence level have to do with the fact that he smoked?

<< Yep that's compassionate conservatism for you, eat your wounded to make a point. >>

Red,

Yep, you're running out of crap-stirring steam. Or perhaps, it didn't occur to you that Medved is a talk show host, not a Republican candidate or party official.

sandorski,

If a VP nominee dies before the Electoral College meets on December 18th, the party picks a replacement. There are procedures established for this in both parties.

If a VP nominee dies after the EC deadline, I believe a replacement is picked by a vote of both the Senate and the House.

<< But the ones who spin the hypocritical BS of Compassionate Conservatism are not to be taken seriously. >>

What is more compassionate? Condemning an entire class of people to a life of minimal government subsistence at the hands of the Poverty Pimps, as the liberals do? Or lifting all people through opportunity as the Conservatives would like to do?

Liberals are compassionate all right; with our money as they re-distribute it in order to maintain control of the populace. For fifty years they've been engaged in the insanity of continually doing the same thing, yet expecting a different outcome.

Red,

I see that, as is your usual MO, you deftly skirted the real question. Perhaps is is because you did not comprehend it? If this is the case, and because I feel great compassion for you, I will expand and explain.

Since the thirties, and more particularly since the sixties, the government in this country has been engaged in creating a social welfare state. They have re-distributed TRILLIONS of dollars from the productive to the un-productive.

Yet today, as a percentage of the population, we have more people classified as poor then at any other time in history. This is a classic example of insanity; to continue doing the same thing, and expect a different outcome.

Again, is this what liberal "compassion" is all about?
