I see that, as is your usual MO, you deftly skirted the real question. Perhaps is is because you did not comprehend it? If this is the case, and because I feel great compassion for you, I will expand and explain.
Since the thirties, and more particularly since the sixties, the government in this country has been engaged in creating a social welfare state. They have re-distributed TRILLIONS of dollars from the productive to the un-productive.
Yet today, as a percentage of the population, we have more people classified as poor then at any other time in history. This is a classic example of insanity; to continue doing the same thing, and expect a different outcome.
Again, is this what liberal "compassion" is all about?
