Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Cheney go down, but isn't it a little early for people to be assuming that this case has actual merit?
maybe we should read up on it a bit..

Conflict of interest, I suppose so... but prison abuse? Unless he was there beating people with a piece of hose or shotting them in the face... I don't see how he could be convicted of misdemeanor assaults as an investor in the company. Sounds like a complete waste of taxpayer money to make a political statement.

Shit, I better go review the holdings of the various mutual funds and ETF's I have. I could probably be indicted for genocide in Texas.

LAWL! re-donk-u-lous!

Why? So far, all we have is an indictment that hasn't been heard by a judge. It hasn't been dismissed or confirmed to go forward by a judge, but your casual .dismissal as "re-donk-u-lous" is far more ridiculous.

I hope it goes forward. I hope this is just the start of criminal charges against, and convictions of, the entire Bushwhacko administration for their multiple crimes against the U.S. and the world.

Bush should just grant cheney and Gonzales with a pardon and say he was the commander in chief and if there was anything done illegally there that he is responsible. Then he can pardon himself too.

Wonder how much people got paid to bring these charges up before Bush left office so he could pardon everyone. I expect we'll see a few more of these before he leaves.

Let's not forget Clinton's pardoning rampage at the end of his term.

Regardless, this scenario is retarded.

I am no fan of Dick Cheney, but any reasonable minded person could look at the charges, and tell it is bullshit. The mere fact that it is a Texas grand jury sais enough about the case.

Hayabusa Rider probably has the more likely correct viewpoint. But how far a blanket criminal immunity will fare against civil lawsuits is one question. And with no crimes charged yet, its hard to
anticipate exactly how to structure the pardons. Ones slip up by GWB in the wordings and it may not be worth the paper its printed on. And competence in that general area is not a GWB strong suit.
The advantage always lies with the patient and careful hunter willing to connect all the dots. As Gonzales should have already learned.

Quit dreaming, the pardons will be extremely broad to make sure there is no chance of anything getting pinned on them. Besides, the new administration -- no matter how much they dislike the old one -- is not going to want to go after them. They know that once you start doing that, it's open season and they'll be submitted to the same BS when they get out of office. Not going to happen.

I find some posts here quite ironic. Before checking out this thread I was reading the *Obama Select Service Draft Regisstration* thread. Some here flamed that OP/thread but treat this one as serious?

Maybe another example of posting before reading?

Come on, you know the answer to that. It's not a big secret that the majority of P&N posters lean very far to the left. 🙂 GWB bashing is one of their talents.

Until this country decides that we are willing to prosecute our war criminals, we will keep producing war criminals.
