Diamond Radeon HD3850 512MB $169.99 Free Ship

After looking around a bit, I can't find much about the warranty...

I think It may only be one year. 🙁

This card sucks compared to the 8800GT 512MB doesn't it? I plan to play on a widescreen 24" 1920x1200 resolution with games like COD4. Will this fit the bill or should I opt for the 8800GT 512MB version still?

Yeah, but this card is almost half the price of a 8800gt.
Stick with the 8800gt if you want to game at that res...

Yeah, and Celeron sucks compared to QX9650... What's your point? They are in different price categories.

I would either get 2xHD3850 512 or 1 8800GT, as Crossfire scales better than SLi. And, of course, 2 HD3850s would be faster than 1 8800GT, proly faster than 8800GTX even, yet cost less.

They dropped the price $5, but the code doesn't seem to work?

You have to be on Newegg's e-mail list for the code to work. Also, the code is now only worth $5.00 off. I assume it has been changed to reflect the additional $5.00 off instant rebate.

I am on the mailing list, but it tells me the code is valid only for specific programs. Dunno.

Where is this proof that crossfire is superior to SLI?? And fyi, 2 3850's the cheapest is like 160 after MIR, and a single 8800GT 512 cheapest is 245ish so no, 2x3850 is not cost effective. Aside from that, you need a crossfire platform, which is probaby 160ish for the mobo when I have a Abit IP35-e.

So go buy your 8800GT and be happy.

By flashing these 3850s with an unlocked BIOS, people have been overclocking them to 750/2000 pretty regularly without any volts mods or aftermarket cooling.

Mine came in today.

The cooler is set up to blow air directly over the bare ram chips. 🙂

The auto-tune set it to 670 core and 870 memory.

Playing UT3 (Shangri-La map 3 times w/bots ,1920x1200 ,video sliders maxed) temp maxed out @ 65C

Don't plan on getting the rebate, Diamond denies them even though they're valid. Or at least that was what they were doing to everybody about a year ago.
