diamond heatsinks?

how are you going to mill the diamond flat? By the time you have a large enough diamond to work with, your thermal goop will kill any advantage that diamond might offer. Thermal conductivity only one of the several aspects that can tip the scales when comparing one material to another.

You can't make a heatsink out of a diamond-- No diamond in existance are big enough (except maybe the Star of Africa in the British Crown Jewels, heh heh), and even industrial diamonds are teeny little things.

But you CAN make a thermal paste with industrial-grade diamond particles in it, since it has a lower thermal resistance than even silver (used in Arctic Silver 5). Who knows, maybe they will come out with an Arctic Diamond thermal paste. 😀

wouldnt you be lapping the cpu core every time you applied the "diamond" thermal paste? I mean, lapping solutions have diamond particles in them...
