Diamond external modem - I don't know jack!!

Hi all.

I have here a Diamond SupraExpress 56K External serial modem (model# SUP2730); a darn fine modem, but I have no quick start guide. I have the manual on the Driver/Spam CD but it also contains no quick start guide. There are no markings on the external modem casing to specify which is Line and which is Phone. It will connect to the internet on either jack at similar speeds but I don't know if I will harm the modem by connecting from the incorrect jack. If anyone knows or can point me in the right (or left) direction...

you said you can log on using either jack? try plugging a phone into the other jack. Works in only one combo, than that's the combo. In other words, if you have the line in plugged into one jack with the phone in the other and it doesnt work, but works if you switch the two, then the latter is the right one.
 
It often makes no difference which jack is used because they are often the same connection.

Check info on the previous DiamondMM website.
