I just happened to run across this and I know most people have broadband now but, this isn't a bad deal for dialup....

Here is what they offer

Anyone try this? Im stuck on dialup because they dont offer broadband here in my new place. I am trying out some dialup isps but still a bit too expensive for decent ones like earthlink. My current local isp is 12.99 but it is kind of unreliable so i think im going to cancel, im on my first month. I might try this, anyway to get any reviews of this isp somewhere.

sounds like a hot deal. thanks fatboy. =)

Instant Messaging - Compatible with most instant messaging programs
this has to crack you up tho. its like saying ... you get free google! =)

I'm using Access4Less.net... I've been using it for 6 months now, and for $5.95 / month, I cannot complain....

Checking out neandertech.com now...

Hmm.... it has a limit of 200 hours, but that's probably more than enough since i work all the time... but can u give me a good reason to switch though? Access4less has unlimited access...

Seems like most of these providers simply resell nationwide dialup using the same few companies.
So all it comes down to is just the price and the hours.

Thanks for the post....I recently started traveling extensively for work and don't want to use the company dial-up account for all of my cruising...😉 Better to be safe than laid off these days...

Try bigzoo.net - I just looked them up. There is a catch in terms of commitment, but the rate is still low. Never used any of those services, so I cannot attest to their quality.

Question: If many of those places share the same dial-up numbers, do they all use EXACTLY the same servers and network connections?

Freedomlist Forums < Go here for up-to-date info on free and low cost dialup ISP services. The top sticky post sorts ISPs by price and reveals any evil fine print, such as hourly surcharges if you go over X hours a month. I recommend that you go with a cheap monthly plan (don't prepay!). Talent Group offers unlimited UUnet backbone access, with no idle timeouts (great for overnight downloads), for $8 a month.

There are a couple of $5 signup, free thereafter, limited ISP's, which give you 10 or 15 hours of banner free access every month.

Freedialnow.com, $5 setup, then 15 free hours each month. This outfit just started up a few days ago.
Access-4-Free, $5 setup, then 10 free hours each month. I have been using Access-4-Free for 6 months as a backup ISP.

What the Freedomlist sticky has to say about ALLVantage:
"AllVantage $79.39 Or $91.39 Lowest First Year Cost; $5.95 Or $6.95 Per Month Paid Monthly (Quarterly, Six (6) Month, Or Annual Payments Also Accepted); $7.99 One-Time Setup Fee ($4.99 If Pay In Advance 6 Months Or $0 if Pay In Advance 12 Months); Credit/Debit Cards; Online Help, Toll-Free Phone ($5 Per Call For $5.95 Per Month Plan; Free For $6.95 Per Month Plan), Fax, Or E-Mail Tech Support; DUN Or Dialer; No Required Software; Two (2) POP3/SMTP & Webmail E-Mail Accounts; Newsgroup Access; No Webspace; 300 Hours Monthly (Limited To 10 Hours Per Day) On Qwest Network; Related To HighStream & QualGuard; Online Account Management System; V.92 Available On Some Access Numbers; 30-Day Access Fee Money Back Guarantee (Excludes Setup Fee); Domain Registered May 2002; First Appeared On Freedomlist June 2002 [Listing Updated 12-11-02] "

Access4Less looks like the current winner. It's $5.95/month with no activation fee if you sign up HERE

Most importantly, it's unlimited access on multiple networks.

I've been using Access4Less for almost a year. Great for websurfing, but I think I've detected higher pings in the last few months. Or maybe it's because I switched from Win98 to WinXP.

Good post. I am learning alot from the freedomlist website.

One problem: what is up with the TOS for these cheap email companies.

They reserve the right charge you $200 for simply downloading a copyrighted song or image! I don't know if I want to take that risk!
