dialer profiles & rotary groups

When configuring a dialer profile, for either single interface or rotary group, what's the command to bind the phone number and the remote hostname?

I've seen two versions on Cisco's documents:
1.
dialer remote-name HOST_NAME
dialer string PHONE_NUMBER
and
2.
dialer map ip IP_ADDRESS name HOST_NAME PHONE_NUMBER

Which one should I use?

I believe it's option 1, being that you are creating a dialer profile. If you weren't creating a dialer profile, then the dialer map statement would be used under the BRI, because obviously there would be no "int dialer1", etc...
