My sister currently has ATT dial up for about $16/month and will soon be charged $20 for the same level of service (limited hrs/month, which works out to about 4-5hrs per day). Because of this anticipated rate increase, she's looking at other alternatives and heard about PeoplePC for $10/month for unlimited access time.

Internet access is not very high on her priority list. She just checks email and surfs every now and then so she just wants decent service. I've had cable for the longest time so I couldn't offer her any alternatives as I like her current provider for quality but not for cost.

Has anyone had experience with PeoplePC or can recommend another ISP around the $10 to $15 range?

PeoplePC sucks. NetZero sucks. Both require you to use their sh1tty ass software. I suggest looking for a local service nearby. When I lived in Northern California we had a local ISP and we paid 10 a month for unlimited access. Our plan was called Viper. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the company :(. Good luck.

Access4Less.net for $4.95/mo with $8 setup fee.

I have used them and recommended A4L to co-workers, nothing but praise.

No special weird spyware crap software to install, check it out :)

what is dial up? seriously, DSL or cable is fairly cheap now-a-days. Tell your sister to get with the modern times.
