The really bad part is that i'm stuck. I live in BFE Indiana and there is no broadband in my future. It'll probably be 20 years before we get something fast out here.:disgust:

Comcast sucks. They have terrible tech support. They know the equivalent of my 5 year old sister when it comes to computers, I kid you not. My pings spike irratically which makes gaming impossible. ESCPECIALLY when you're about to gut some guy in DOD (half-life MOD) where it's crucial that he doesn't know you're there. You have to act fast, but wait, you can't! You're completely lagged RIGHT BEHIND HIM!!!!! ARG!

I'm not telling you to go with comcast, I'm just letting you know that if you do and you ever have a problem, you might as well give up :-/

Starband is what I'm on now (no cable/dsl here, only dialup) and it's ok, speeds are nice, but they nail you on the install price ($700+/-). Software is also a bit buggy. I'd recommend it though if you have the cash on hand for the install price.

I faintly remember dial up. Used to shut my computer off then. I had to change my whole 'get home from work' routine. Used to turn on the computer, and sign on. Go for a drink while the noises commenced. Heh, now I get my drink on the way in the door (fridge is two feet from door). Get to the computer and turn on monitor. Hmm, there's my email waiting for me, ICQ is there to talk to me, and my favorite tunes are bein broadcast to me over the net. The only noise I hear from the computer now are the occasional boot beep, and the peacefuly quiet hum from the fans cooling my duron700@972 to 35c. Like I said though, I faintly remember dial up.
