whenever i open my computer the dial up connection thing pops up telling me to connect to the internet. This has just started happening recently. I would just disable the darn connection but I use dial up. any suggestions as to what could be causing this/how I can tell it to stop? thanks

on (assume Internet Explorer) IE, toolbar> click TOOLS>Internet Options>Connections tab> you will see your
default connection (dial up isp name) >click the button that say "Never Dial a Connection > Apply.
This just stops programs installed from automatically prompting to dial up....you dial up manually...by clicking the
dial up (I added a shortcut to desktop for dialup isp connection...)
just double click that and the dial up connection box comes up.

You might want to check for virus or some adware or something because when you open mycomputer it loads a web page, and if it is trying to access the internet something is wrong. vbs script viruses are good for that too.
