Diagnosing tools?

Hi, recently my comp started running like crap, just running really slowly. I reformatted it hoping that would fix the problem but it hasn't. Im guessing the problem lies with the hardware because the reformat didn't fix it.

Are there any progs that test certain hardware components so i can see if they are running properly.

Im taking a wild guess but the problem probably lies in either the hdd ram or processor, no?

Did you reformat all hard drives or just one? Trying to rule out software infection.

Edit: Sisoft Sandra and Memtest86 would be good places to start, I'm sure someone else around here has better suggestions.
 
I have 2 hdd's, i just reformatted the one with windows n all my progs on it, the other has mostly media on it, you think i should reformat that too?
 
I ran the SiSoftware diagnosing tool and it said under mainboard information that my power / aux temp was too high, 66 C. I have a micro atx case which is pretty cramped and was planning on getting the sonata II to cool things off, i just dont see how cooling my comp down would stop my comp from running really slowly.

Thats too hot. I bet heat issues are degrading your performance. Excessive heat is its worst enemy. Cool it down! You will see the difference.
