Diagnose my problem

I drive a 2000 Chevy S-10. This morning it started fine and seemed to be working normally. I drove about 7 miles on the interstate, but when I got to the end of the off ramp the engine seemed to get stuttery. I gave it a little more gas, and for a second or two it seemed to be fine, but then the engine died and all the lights on the dashboard lit up.
I got it pulled over to the side of the road. When I try to start it, it seems to turn over just fine, but it won't fire up.

I'm at work now, but without any more information, what could be the problem?

EDIT 4/16: It was the fuel pump. $500. bleh.

Did you just happen to buy gas? If so you might have water in the fuel lines. If not check for plugged fuel filter.

It has been a few days since I bought gas.

Yeah, doe's it have an electrical or mechanical fuel pump?

No idea.

Over lunch I tried to start it again with no luck - just the same: it turns over but won't fire. A local garage I've used before is going to tow and hopefully fix it.

I'd say it's highly likely a fuel pump problem.

Usually it goes:

1. "Hmm, my car is accelerating in an odd way."
2. "Hmm, my car is idling like a Saigon whore."
3. "Hmm, my car died while moving."
4. "Hmm, my car no longer starts."
