1. Did you ever consider it perhaps unwise to bench press with an undiagnosed neck injury?

2. Is it wise to solicit medical advice on ATOT?

I think #1 was a lot more wise than #2. 😀 But figured that out of around 20 or so replies, that there may be just one legitimate answer. That would be a good ratio for this place.

Lol, you've got that right.

Woke up Monday morning and could barely move my head in any direction. My neck was stiff as a board and hurt like hell. Figured I just slept on it wrong and that it would gradually get better. Didn't improve any over the course of Mon or Tues. On Wednesday, it was loosening up some and I could turn my head about 4" either way and front to back. Today, it was feeling around 80% so I thought that this would be the first day I could go back to the gym but take it easy.

Was on my back doing an incline bench press and at the top of my movement, it felt like someone hit me in the back (right side) of my neck with a claw hammer. Pain is now 10 times worse than on Monday and is traveling down into my shoulder, upper arm and partially into my back. All on the right/back side. I seriously cannot move my head in any direction without it making my eyes water from the pain. Calling doctor tomorrow for an appointment but just curious if anyone knows what the hell I did. Obviously, the damage was done upon waking up Monday morning but I totally F'd it up today at the gym.

Go to your local Emergency room now!! So what if you can`t afford it!! You also can`t afford to be injured for life or maybe even possibly die...run...don`t walk..oops call a cab and take it easy getting there.

Menangitis!!! GET CHECKED OUT NOW! My best friend's gf had those symptoms in high school...they found her dead in morning 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Hmmm, lets see since you are tried working out when you had a NECK INJURY. I think that diagnoses it. You did something really stupid the night before that caused the injury but it was something your memory blocked out because it was so bad.....

Seriously go see a doctor NOW.

My dad almost died from meningitis, but a HS friend died during his freshman year in college from it.

Menangitis, I don't think it's that he would be dead by now it's been a couple days.

A guy at our church got it but it was bacterial not viral, so he lived. The doctors said he should have died though and he was going to have brain damage if he lived but he pulled through.

Dude, definitely go to a doctor. While it might just be a nerve or muscle problem in your neck, do not take chances when you are feeling pain in a vital area of your body. Good luck!

Well, sorry to disappoint some of you but it isn't miningitis.

Compressed nerve and muscle strain was the verdict. Got a big shot in the butt cheek (Cortisone) a script for some Hydrocodone and one for some Soma. About to have one of each and a cold beer to wash them down with. I do not condone mixing narcotics with alcohol so children, do not follow my lead. 🙂

I was prety close.

Number1: This could be very serious. You may have stretched your head stabilizer tendon. You may end up with a chronic case of loose headedness.
