Diablo II on a 30" LCD isn't going to work very well is it?

Been thinking of installing Diablo II again and doing some ye olde monster cleaving. Problem is I'm working on a 30" LCD here. If I remember right Diablo ran on super low rez to be as widely playable as possible. That's going to look like crap isn't it? Did DII support any higher resolutions?

Meh. I didn't mind... It was great for running four Diablo IIs at once online... :-/ I would play Diablo 2 if it wasn't for my horrible addiction to it... I swear that game is more addictive than heroin.

Oh and I played the game windowed, ALL THE TIME. I never played full screen because that shit was annoying and looked hella bad.

LOL not the colour controversy again! Yeah the original group at blizzard working on it quit to make hellgate london (which turned out really shity). Development was taken over by guys who had worked on wow. So it does have wow influences. I have confidence in blizzard though. And some of the more recent pics and videos look great!

Eh... The wizard looks like shit. I want the spell casting like the Diablo II. That was the shit. It looks far less interesting and skill-tree based...

Diablo II is definitely a 10/10 game for me... It's hard to live up to that reputation.
 
I'm gettin' Diablo II and probably going to install it either tomorrow or later tonight. X_X I must play.... I must ressurect my level... 92?(94?93?) hammerdin... HE MUST THRIVE... HE MUST KILL MEPHISTO FOR THE 10,000 TIME! (I have killed him a lot...)

He better drop a shako...
 
I've played it on my 22". It won't look good, but a 1998 release wouldn't look good even if it supported higher resolutions. Make sure you enable 'keep aspect ratio' (or whatever it's called) in your video drivers if it's a widescreen, stretching it horizontally makes it barely playable.
 
I play old 640x480 games in 4:3 aspect ratio with the black bars on the side. It looks good to me. I even play some of my old old games that have a default resolution of 320x200. The pixels are giant, but I still love playing them.

You do know that online chars expire after 90 days - IMO one of the worst game designs ever.
 
Craig - few months ago Blizz made an updade where chars expire, but you can log back in and renew them (just click on char like usual). This is why I have my fleet of pimped out chars still waiting for me, should I ever wish to waste away my life again.

I used to play D2 with some of my GF's nephews a while back and couldn't help but think how cool a coop version at say 1080p on a 42 inch tv with up to 4 players on one screen would be.

You do know you can just play those characters anyway.. They never expire. 😛 I played him last night and it said "expired." lol... They don't actually go away. You can just play the character even though it says he is expired and then you have like 90 or 180 days to go or whatever.

Hey, I don't want your shitty shakos. I only go for perfects. I already have a shako in my stash. 🙁 I wonder if any of my mules have good shit... I should check.. (I gave away all my shit when I stopped playing... It was like emptying five different mule accounts that were all full, lol)
