Huh... Actually thats what makes Blizzard special... They are one of the few companies that realize gameplay >>>>>>>>>> graphics

Plus they want everyone to be able to play their games so yeah
D3 could have kept the same 2d engine from D2 and it would still have millions of players because the game is just that much fun

So what you're saying is what makes Blizzard special is that they are one of the few companies that sell you a $60 game with crap graphics.

Eh...Don't like it don't buy it. Problem solved. I'm glad my ancient card can still play it, even though I was going to use this as an excuse to get a 670/7950.

True, but from what I've read, it doesn't bring a whole lot new in terms of gameplay or story either. Although it was never stated it was a BAD game.

If you want graphics instead of gameplay, go play a movie.

You can have both. :colbert:

Admittedly, it's hard to really do a true Diablo-style game with an advanced engine. I am sure a Diablo-like game could, but it would have to sacrifice a major aspect: the endless clicking and massive hoards.

At the same rate, they could have catered to more crowds in terms of graphics. A good engine will scale across multiple sets of hardware. They could have even more graphical options for systems that can support it, and still offer what is available now for lower-end systems.

Exactly, they didn't have to neuter it for everyone...unless they were using an engine that couldn't scale in the first place.

I just want to add that I found out the following:

The SLI scaling with the original bits is apparently fine in most of the game, however in Wortham (Act 1) it is not. There might be other areas where this problem occurs, I cannot say for sure.

Im waiting to see if Blizzard think its OK to use the fxaa injector dx3d dll, it really makes D3 look so much crisper and not washed out, with good AA and better AO.

Dont want to get banned using those mods til they okay it for retail heh.

They already stated that it is not considered a cheat. They stated it on day 1. :)

How about you leave everything on max and turn off shadows to test,

GTS 250 here. Do you think that shadows in diablo would choke a q6600@3ghz? I am going to test it. Which programs do you use to monitor cpu/gpu usage? Also, do you play with V-sync on or off?

Fxaa? Isn't that an nvidia thing because I see that you have a 7850 or are you talking about the dark3d mod? If so what setting are you using? I want to try it.

Not sure. I was just warning people. I had 3 severe threats detected by MSE.

Imageshack has gotten pretty bad with their ad QA.

I still use it, but I only link to the raw image, not the ugly webpage with the image on it.

Interesting. Game devs are to blame once again...
The SLI profile works with said exception, maybe a patch will fix this small issue and then we're good.

Crossfire was not working for me at all. I had to download RadeonPro to try and force it.

1920 x 1080 everything maxed, AA AF forced in CCC
Single 4850 = 30fps min, 39 fps avg
Three 4850 = 79fps min, 112 fps avg

Definitely a difference in smoothness.

I have no issue playing D3 in SLi, with latest driver installed.

Is there any reason to bother SLIing this game? It requires nothing to run with settings maxed.

i run dual 6870s at 1920x1200 with CF enable the game stutters like no other, looks like the FPS jumps from 10-150 constantly, dissabling CF lets it run smoothly around 80 FPS with settings on high
