Me and my friend both made zeal pallys and went around in hell cow levels with our torches, so i can imagine what it must have been like with a bowazon lol.

Im now thinking about skimping on the proc and ram and buying a good video card and monitor now, then when diablo comes out upgrade the other two, or just skimp on all 3, buy an amazing monitor, and pray I have enough money to upgrade when D3 rolls around, prices on what ima need should be quite a bit lower buy then. Does anybody use their TV to play? thats what I'd rather spend the money on instead of a monitor, and then give it a dual use.

I hook mine up to my 60" SONY now and again using an xbox 360 controller. This works great for some games, others like Age of Conan it's hard to play at max res (1080p) due to the size of the font but I would imagine Diablo at 720p would be perfect.

What would be a good video card addition so i can play glitch free diablo 3? maybe some left for dead 2.

That motherboard you've picked already has integrated video. If you don't plan on playing any games until Diablo 3, just stick with the onboard video and buy something new when the game comes out.

A 4670 would be a complete waste of money if you aren't playing any games on it. For that matter, that CPU is overkill as well for common tasks; you'd probably be able to save a ton of money by getting a dirt cheap dual core CPU now and upgrading later if needed, when D3 comes out.

Dude we have no idea what will be needed to play D3 at max settings, as the game is not even close to coming out yet. If 2011 is to be believed, it's quite likely that a $200 value card in spring 2011 will outperform the $300-$400 cards of today.

This.

Buy a card to get you by for L4D2 and save your money. In 2011 you can probably get a budget $75 card that outperforms today's $150 card. Also, when D3 comes out we might find that it can run on just about any card, but really needs more CPU cores or really needs more RAM, or is the first game to ship on BD so really needs a larger HDD, or is really bloated so the only thing that makes it play well is an SSD (which will cost less in 2011). Really, right now NOBODY KNOWS (and if they do, aren't telling).

Back to the past:

In 2003, Valve released their infamous SM2.0 benchmarks showing how sucky the Geforce FX series and how strong the Radeons 9xxx are in HL2. So a lot of people bought R300 cards...awaiting the release of HL2 in 2003.

But guess what? The game was only out in late 2004 after the source code leak fiasco. By then the 6600GT was already out and throughly thrashed the 9800s and it was much cheaper.

Moral of the story? NEVER upgrade for unreleased games.

Thanks for all the input guys! Im thinking about going with a dual core regor 2.8 ghz and just oc-ing it high enough to do whatever i need to for now, then upgrading later, and going with cheaper ddr2 ram, like 2gb of it, to save cash for when ram goes back down in price. using onboard video for now, and buying a bigger psu than i had planned and a case i like a bit better, then a new TV.

yes! im moving in with my rich a$$ friend who turned 21 this year, so getting booze is no problem, and i got a full ride to college, so my parents are buying me a new car, so all that money i was planning on spending on college and a motorcycle is now up in the air for me to do what ive been wanting to do with it for awhile.
