Changing this thread, who on here still played D2: LoD on the US East ladder? Just looking for peeps to play with.

Decided to scratch the necro and move to a sorc, working much better for me now! (I suck with necs).

Yes, I'm going to restart Diablo 2 again, this will be about the 6th or 7th time I've restarted the game. Wondering if anyone has some basic gear (I started with a Necro but could really use anything) I could bum?

Also, I know that Blizz was talking about doing another major update and changing a bunch of stuff, any news on when that will happen?

Thanks!

Did the ladder reset? If you're going to play ladder, might as well wait for the ladder to reset. It should happen "soon."

Just started up a couple of weeks ago. My bro started playing it so I went and got the Battlechest.

I currently have a level 60ish Assassin on UsEast Ladder.

Always looking for people to play with. Either I play by myself and get owned or no drops, or I play this big Baal run game and be lucky to pick up a drop. I know everyone wants the drops but I don't care if I manage to snag some nice sword or whatever... I wish people would be open to trade the drops more. i.e. a claw drops that someone has no use for I'd gladly trade the drops I got for it. That's one thing that wasn't popular in the time of D2, but since then with Guild Wars, Mythos, etc having drops predetermined for players is the way to go. I'm guessing D3 will do that.

Because in my current state I am getting owned in NM. It sucks how much you need good equipment. I probably should have went with a build less necessary on good equipment but still.

Does ladder reset mean your character gets deleted with the reset or what?

Ladder reset means your characters who are currently ladder will move to non-ladder.

I've been playing Diablo 2 off and on since 2000 or so. Back in 1.09 I was really into it. I did alot of PvP (one of the best zons on US East, although old Zealot Paladins were my favorite). Since then I've picked it up a few times, I really just don't like 1.10/1.11/1.12 or whatever we're on now. But I've got to get my fix.

Wish hell cows were still "the thing to do" as they were MUCH more fun than Baal runs...

I went with a necro as I think they are probably the least gear dependent class. Still hope to get some good lower level gear.

Do you use d2jsp? A friend and I saved up some fg there, planning to use it once the ladder reset/1.13 came out, but that hasn't happened yet. I could give you some fg to help you get started. Let me know if you're interested.

I've got a jsp account but I haven't used it in quote a while (I never actually traded on it, just setup the account in preperation to trade).

I'll take it but I almost think it's overkill, the stuff I'm looking for is pretty basic cheap stuff (Gravespine, Wormskull, Arm or Leoric, etc).

By the thread's title I first thought that the Ladder just reset, it's not the case unfortunately, but not surprising though, the last time Blizzard announced a patch for D2:LoD before its release (1.10) it took them a complete year before releasing it, and the next Ladder reset will occur when patch 1.13 will be out, so hmmm, that may take some time still.

There was a post on 6/30/09 from someone at Blizzard saying that things were going well with the patch (and therefore reset) until something major came up with Warcraft 3 just recently. So they had to postpone D2 patch while they worked that issue. But now the WC3 fix is going through testing so they expect to get the D2 patch to public testing in the next few weeks. So hopefully another couple of months and we'll have it.

I think I found it linked from diii.net.

What's your account kabob? Mine is the same as my name here. Of the gear I have I think necro gear is about my lowest but I'll help you with anything I find. I finally was able to get a Bartucs so hopefully I'll be able to handle Baal runs in NM better. Once I get another Bartucs I'll be able to do some decent runs. I got some decent equipment (like a Strings belt) just running him in normal.

I'd help you out but my char was moved to non-ladder after oneof the resets.

You're of no help! :p

Wonder how crowded USWest is vs. USEast?

The sorceress is useless in the late game. The only thing she's good for is normal rushing new characters. The best builds to start with are a skellymancer or a hammerdin. Melee characters are no good without crushing blow, and aside from a smiter (which is expensive to gear properly) they'll all suffer from attack rating problems against high level monsters. There's really only a few characters and builds left that are actually viable in Hell.

Sorc I made can get through nightmare without any issue (and she's got crappy gear). Hell owns her though. I really miss 1.09. It was so much more fun back then because you didn't have only two or three builds that could survive hell. I had a zealot paladin and pvp amazon that could kill hell baal without issue, now if you don't have a hammerdin or uber sorc you're pretty much out of luck in that respect. All they did for 1.10 and beyond is make a bunch of uber items/runewords, add synergies, and then jack the difficulty way up.

Also, cow runs were SO much more fun than baal runs...

So, since we're talking Diablo, what good mods are out? Me and friend have been searching for co-op games, and having tried a bunch of the new ones, finding them no fun, I now turn to Diablo :)
I downloaded Median 2008, but haven't had a chance to try it yet, any other good mods out there?

Honestly, all I do in this game ever is grush people for hell forge, or go mf, find mostly junk that low level chars gobble up. I probably only have 2 well equipped characters that can do things, one a hdin that does the rushing and mfing, and the other a smiter to go along for the occasional tristram game.

I don't know, I haven't played in a month now, but characters seem to stay forever these days.

How is a sorc useless in the end game? I can handle hell just fine.
