According to the scenario established by the documents, titled "DHS/FEMA National Exercise Program - Capstone Exercise 2014 - Scenario Ground Truth," the group Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny believes that the government caused the earthquake and are upset because martial law has been instituted as a result.


The DHS and FEMA will be training to be able to counter this group's efforts at combating martial law via the Internet.


“The U.S. Northern Command mission of Defense Support to Civil Authorities has led to increased activity by some anti-government organizations,” the documents state. “Currently, the most vocal organization is Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny; using social media, they advertise anti-U.S. rhetoric focusing on the Department of Defense as well as to recruit like-minded individuals to join their 'cause'.

By the way, what ever happened to those? Obama only has a few years left to crush freedom under the jackboot of communism so he better start filling them up soon.
 
I'd be furious about this but I was vaccinated as a child so I can't seem to work up the motivation to care.

I think we all expect, and in fact support, the government preparing for war against a hostile foreign power. But preparing and training for war against the civilian population of our own nation is NOT something any of us should accept as normal.

I agree. So far, the only reports we have that this might actually be happening are from web blogs parrotting each other.

Did you guys even read it? It's an exercise that runs under the assumption that the branches of government all have members sympathetic to the group's cause. Operating under that assumption, they'll attempt to counter potential threats.

It's no different than hundreds of military war games run all the time.

Why do we care if they're practicing protecting us?
