So I posted about winning an Xbox 360 + Kinect bundle a few days back. Well MS sent me a legal form to sign via DHL. Basically it's a simple waiver form that allows MS to use my name etc in any advertising they might want to use and I agree to waive my right to any damages etc etc relating to the contest. Blah Blah blah simple. So I sign the form and call DHL to book a pickup. The shipment came with an auto-return label which is a repaid waybill to send it back to it's destination. Right away I have some problems. They want to know what account number this is being sent under. I didn't understnad and spent a lot of time searching over it looking for a number. Finally I seem to get it through to them that this shouldn't require an account number as far as I understand it because it's been pre paid. They finally say ok and book a pickup time for the next day. Next day rolls around and the 3 hours window passes and no one shows up. I call and they tell me that THE DRIVER SHOWED UP AND REFUSED THE SHIPMENT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ACCOUNT NUMBER.

I was home all day and no fucking driver showed up. So I book ANOTHER pickup time for today. Well they call a 2nd time and tell me the driver is delayed and should be here some time between 2 and 4, more hours pass. No one shows up. I call and they say the same SHIT the driver never bothered to show up because he was waiting confirmation of an account number. I've contacted the person at MS that handles this and he said I don't need an account number because it's prepaid, he said they have run into this issue before. So I have now booked a 3rd pickup time for tomorrow and the person on the phone says they have left extra notes for the driver that he can NOT refuse to pick it up. But this is fucking unacceptable at this point!!!!! Sure it's just a document for winning a contest but DHL has no fucking clue about that. Suppose I was working for a company and was relying on this document for closing some important deal or something!? WTF how can they operate this way?

Update: DHL JUST showed up (only 4 hours late but better than waiting for tomorrow!) and took the envelope! The guy I spoke to on the phone last said he was also going to forward my issue to their "missed pickup" department or something. I didn't really listen to that but it sounds like someone DID pull a few strings! First thing I said to the driver "So you did show up!". His first response? "Well yeah that's what happens when they run a company like this with a skeleton crew". lol so apparently the drivers know it's all fucked up too.

Any way you can drop it off at the DHL office? Or just spend $5 and send it USPS priority.

I'm going to try this one last time. I'm working tomorrow but luckily my mother is home so there will be someone here. I live in Canada so the equivalent would be Canada post. I don't see any dedicated DHL offices close to me. There are delivery stores that take DHL and other couriers but I don't trust that. If I do end up sending this on my own money I'm going to send one very angry letter off to DHL about it. I've also contacted MS to make sure there isn't anything time sensitive about this. I'd be SUPER pissed if I somehow lost the bundle because of a "time out" or something.

ship it with UPS? FedEx? USPS? lol

Thing is MS is the one who shipped it to me with the auto return label and envelop. If I ship it a different method I wouldn't want it to get lost or ignored somehow. Course the way DHL has been handling this it might anyway.

It's the principle. I would do the same thing.

See above. I would worry that MS might miss place it or something. I don't know how they handle these things. They sent it out via DHL with a prepaid auto-return label, info and envelope.

Not sure if this will work, but scan/email and skip the snail mail? I've been doing this with tons of docs between me/builder/mortgage company without any problems.

Can I come over and play your new system when/if you finally get it?

Well I think the MS offices are closed right now so I can't find out now. However thanks for the idea! If they don't show up tomorrow I'll contact the guy at MS and see.
