DHCP Problem

Well my biggest problem is getting in touch with the technical service of NTL here in the UK.But anyways put together a new puter for the first time, using a ConRoe945G-DVI mobo running WinXP home ed.Anyways everything works just fine but when I try and install the broadband software I get this message.
Broadband Set-up CD could not renew the IP adress for your network adapter(DHCP)

There may be a problem with your physical connections.
DHCP allows your network adapter to obtain its network settings automatically.

Can't see it being a loose connection and my other puter works just fine when I plug that back in,well as always any help would be greatly appreciated.TIA

since you're installing software for broadband, the ISP may map your IP to the NIC MAC address, in that case...u will need to contact your ISP helpdesk to clear the MAC or use the old NIC

Yes mate spot on,thanx. If the technical service at NTL answered the phone occassionally. The only thing you ever get thro' to is that stupid message telling you how much the call will cost from a BT landline, not that I have a BT landline.Anyways thanks alot for the help, nice one.
