dhcp error

In the event viewer in my win2k pro box, There's a warning for dhcp that says "Your computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address ************. The IP address being used is 169.254.4.19." What does that mean and how do I fix it? I have 2 nics and they both are giving this message with diff ip addy's.

If you don't assign a static IP address, and a DHCP server is not available, w2k assigns address in 169.254... subnet.
