You'll find that mgmt has balls if you try to do their job.

Suck it up, find another job if you have to.

They're everywhere. That's what I've gathered in my just over 2 years in the professional world. I don't feel like I do that much but get nothing but praise. Seems like all you have to do is stop drooling every couple of minutes and people are happy.

It's actually really sad how low the expectations are, which means there's a cubic crapload of people like you describe.

Agreed, should not really be concerning myself, but everyone else in the department is getting pissed off, work environment turning toxic because this employee is getting away with murder while we are under the gun to take up this employees slack

We have one like that at work. Funny back story: we used to have 2. One got "laid off," the other one promoted.

The difference? The one who got "laid off" did not know how to kiss his boss's arse.

It can be a frustrating situation. Get a feel for his position with management before doing anything foolish.

I would still blame management for not performance managing dead weight out the door. Its not that hard. Just tread carefully.
