I have a gigabyte k8ns, and ive read good reviews about it. Then i saw the DFI lanparty ut250 nforce3 or something like that, and I was wondering, is the DFI board worth the 30 extra dollars

but see, i already have my processor and ram, and is there board gonna have the nForce4 chipset, and have ddr2. is the ddr2 gonna be backwards compatible?? is it going to have only PCI-e slot? cuz i already got my video card.

Nforce 4 will NOT have DDR2. It is not dependant on the chipset (only depends on chipset for the slots) The Athlon 64 has an on die memory controller. TO get DDR2 you would need to make a new revision of the A64 core.

If you already have an A64 socket 754 CPU then get the DFI Lanparty UT. It will be capable of whatever you want to do for quite some time. especially if you OC.

If you are NOT going to overclock, the Soltek K8AN2E-GR offers excellent stock performance. In an AnandTech review it beat out it's competitors in many tests. And it costs less.

But the other guys are right, if you plan to OC do yourself an favor and get the LP.
