I received my board today and installed it without much luck. When I plugged the PSU in the PSU would just make a noise and pushing the power button did nothing. I removed everything except the CPU and ram and tried plugging the CPU in again and it just made the same high pitched noise (the LEDs on the motherboard were partially lit up). After I unplug the power the power from the PSU and board fades and just before the power is gone the LEDs light up fully and then turn off. Even without the CPU and Ram the PSU makes this noise when I plug in the power cord (with the ATX and 12v connectors plugged into the board). So I put the CPU and memory back on my old board (Epox 8KDA3+) and it all boots up just fine. I tried a CMOS reset on the DFI and even took it out of the case to make sure that no connections where being made from the case.

AMD64 3200+
Ut NF3 250Gb
Kingston PC-3000 (2x512mB)
ATI 9800NP 128Mb
Antec PP412X PSU

DOA? Or does anyone have any ideas?

do you have another power supply you could try?

That sounds more like a doa power supply than a bad motherboard.

I am running the PSU right now with my epox board and the rest of the components. The PSU just doesn't want to work with the DFI, and I'm guessing that it's a bad board.

Just to make sure I read your post right......

You have swapped the mobo back to what it was, and all the components [inc cpu/ram/drives/psu etc].
Everything is fine now.

When you change only the mobo to the DFI, then you get the problem you described.

IF that is right, then the most likely explanation is the new mobo is playing up.
One last thing - are you sure that all power cables were plugged in tight enough? Just a simple check before you RMA

Yes that is correct. I double, even triple checked my cables when I was troubleshooting and nothing worked. I just requested an RMA from newegg this morning so I will send my board back to them and hopefully get one that works in a week and a half.
