DFI ultra-D and ram not working ?

I have purchase Kingston value ram PC-3200 DDR 400 mhz dual channel. I use it with my DFI ultra-D motherboard (bios updated already) and the system crash alot.

Is it because DFI ultra-D doesn't support kingston value ram dual channel PC-3200 DDR 400 mhz? OR is there anyway I can fix this problem?

Thank you very much. >_<

I know that board is really sensitive to type of RAM. You might want to have a look at RAM compatibility list or give DFI a call.

EDIT: If you have an extra stick of RAM lying around try that. Or ask a friend. Then for sure you will know it's the RAM

What exactly does the board do .. like when/where/how often does it crash?

Try raising the vdimm to about 2.8, and if that doesnt' fix stability try lowering ram speed to 180, 166, 150, etc.

I had some Kingston HyperX ram and my Ultra-d hated it.

like cheese said, try feeding it a bit of volts and as concillian mentioned the 510-2 are much more forgiving. i assumed you had those when you said updated bios.

also, one of the problems alot of people have is using stock or auto voltages. you don't have to go crazy but the board undervolts the vcore so i'd set it to 1.4v and special at +104% or +110% in addition to the bump in vdimm to 2.8.

ahhh..........>_< stupid motherboard.....I spend 150 on these rams n they hated it.

gotta try ur method.

I have the same motherboard and the same ValueRam, runs great at stock settings. I got some OCZ 3200 Plat Rev2 (great stuff, but expensive) and it wouldn't load Windows until I raised the RAM voltage to 2.8 and slightly relaxed the timings from 2-2-5-2 to 2-2-6-2. With your Kingston ValueRam, I'd up the voltage a little bit and try 2.5-3-8-3 rather than the stock 2.5-3-7-3. There are a ton of other settings you can play with, too.
