the board is coming out! its a reality. haven't haven't you been following this thread?
I think he means the "ASUS" RD600 and not the DFI RD600, which has been the focus of this thread.

Atleast please answer me this. Will the board come out first in the USA or will it come out in Europe or Asia?By the board i mean either the DFI RD600 or the ASUS RD600.
That doesn't violate the NDA does it?Cause i got until decemeber 10th to decide.If it doesn't bad-axe 2 here i come.

Zomfg... the wait is killlinnng mee...

I wannt myy deeee effff eyyyeee 🙁

Can I expect street prices near the 300$ CAD mark? This is about where the eVGA 680i board is...

The only talk I have heard so far of the RD600 is from DFI. Of course that doesnt mean other manufacturers, like ASUS, wouldnt make one either. But to my knowledge so far DFI is the only one to talk about making a RD600 mobo.

ah right the asus. yes it look like asus is a reality.

One of the most stable supporters for chipset ATI RD600 is company DFI, it promised motherboard on its basis during December of the present year.many Other producers generally reject the idea to release products on RD600 basis .

If as the previously reason for a similar behavior were considered possible from the side Of intel, then more common place factors now leave. As acknowledged to us in private conversation with motherboard producers , their is an absence of interest from the side Of intel in chipset ATI RD600 which made the optimization of drivers fairly complicated task, .

As communicated associates , the company Of asus finnaly decided to release board on basis chipset RD600, and this motherboard will be assembled already in the end of November, obtaining all chances to outdistance DFI.

It would like to note the possible name change , but nothing was communicated about this.

Reading this made my brain hurt 🙁

Are you trying to say there is going to be an Asus board or what? Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to clarify.

yeah. i asked the same question the last time but no one reply. Will ASUS also release an RD600 mobo?

Asus cannot answer that at this time although they have a working sample. This does not imply they will move forward as just about all motherboard suppliers have working samples of chipsets they never plan to introduce. If the DFI board turns out really well, then I would expect Asus to be under pressure to move forward with one. The problem is not the RD600 chipset or other suppliers wanting to use it, the issue is what happens with support calls three years down the road. Some companies are willing to take that chance and some are not.

15\12 is cutting it a bit fine for my build at christmas :\ I need to do it then as I'm going home from work (I live away while working) and I'll be leaving my old PC at home when I take the new one back.

Its going to be interesting wether this last ATI/AMD mobo from DFI will be a best or a bust. Considering DFI has been out of the new mobo game for last few months I think they need to prove they got the right stuff still. I was also wondering if they were going to do a 680i mobo. Now it looks like they will in January.

I doubt this board will be anything but excellent. After all the work they're putting into it, it wouldn't make any sense to release something mediocre. The RD600 reference board was amazing, easily hitting 400+ MHz FSBs on early silicon with a first spin BIOS.

As said by Gary several times this thread, I think that DFI wants to make sure this BIOS is completely stable and a very good OCer, because like you said Skott, DFI has a lot riding on the sucess of this board.

Personally I'm willing to take a slightly unfinished build that I have to baby more for a time to get one into my case so I can finally finish my build.

You guys know what type of memory your gonna' cram in this beast? I ask since I am still in the days of ddr 400/pc 3200 and have totally lost touch with current speeds of ram.

I intend to buy either this board or the Asus version come the new year. Hopefully then most of the problems with price inflation, availability, and bugs have been worked out.

This board is over due!

I'd wait for it to come out before deciding on things like RAM, Proc, HSF, and etc., See what people are having the best luck with the various components. Mobos can be especially picky about what ram modules work and dont work.

Yes, it does exist. 🙂
I believe you. Pay no attention to the doubting Thomas'.

However, the correct phrase of you quoted in your Topic Summary is : "Something wicked this way comes..."

Has anyone seen any reviews on this chipset yet?
This is ball breaking, having to wait so long for a proper review and feeding on scraps.

🙁
