Gary, just so you know, we're all eagerly awaiting your preview, and any info on release date 😛

We should have a preview/review with a retail board sometime in the very near or not to distant future. 😉

So, between tomorrow and November? 😀

Well I really wanted this motherboard and I was confused about it's release to I e-mailed DFI and here was there reply:

Dear Sirs,

Sorry for the long waiting. It should be available on/abt end of Nov.

Best regards,
Greta Kuo

November it is. Guess I'm going with ASUS.

Out on the AT front page is a link to leaked pic of it. End of November sounds about right from earlier info thats been batted about. This will be a hard to get Xmas item I bet. ::chuckle::

any idea of cost for this beast? i'm hoping less than 200 but then again, i just woke up and am not in my right mind 🙂

North of $200 sound right considering the prices of the high overclocking 965 and 570 mobo prices. Hopefully they wont put it over $250 like we been seeing for the higher end mobos currently availble.

For $300 I'd at least like to read a review first, but it seems I have to wait anyway since its on backorder. I didn't know this was coming out so soon. Did I miss the memo or is this a surprise to most people?

Well, I guess some gouging was to be expected at the beginning. Maybe the prices will have come down a bit in two months or so when I'm planning to buy.

Its not out. Thats why its on backorder. Latter part of November was the latest estimate from those in the know supposedly. If the rumors hold true then you are looking at least another month of backorder. In essence its really a preorder if you ask me. I'd still wait for a professional review before ordering but thats just me.

well said... especially for 300 bones...

I like how they say, "we received two top secret images from DFI". ::chuckle:: The pics were leaked a week or so ago on the net. Their saying its going to be released in 2-3 weeks. I'm going to guess thats another estimate on their part. That puts it into early November instead of late November like all the other rumors place release. They are speculating an active cooling on that one chipset. I hope DFI forgoes a fan. A fan would mean more noise than I would want to hear on a mobo. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

GARYY! Please tell us that the not too distant future is less distant by now!

🙁

This is the mobo of choice for my kentsfield Q6600/R600/Vista build..
