DFI Nforce4 SLI

Your links are dead...

I really like the board's layout, looks like you fit just about any heatsink on the board. 🙂 Hopefully it'll be the same with the non-SLi varients....

Probably the most expensive too....

I would go for this board, the layout seems adequate for a XP 120, looks like it has strong MOSFET's and a nice PCB finish. I just wonder if the memory banks above the socket won't take too much heat from the convection hot air from the CPU (although that may be balanced by a high flow fan blowing fresh air into those hotspots).

prepared 😀 It's out mid-january.. so I'm hoping by the start of february it will be $200. I think that is CLOSE to a reasonable assumption. But you know what they say about assumption 😛

I don't know wat I've missed in the implementation of this, but what's with the Molex connector on the motherboard? Is it to add more power to the PCI Express x16 bus?

Wow. This puppy should scream.

As for high price? I bet it's cheaper than ASUS's. DFI is king of value and performance. Look at Infinity ultra always stayed under $100. The best 754 board is under $110 most places DFI lan party 250.

Time could be an issue. The A8N is out and the Lan Party isn't. If it were up to me I would go DFI too.

The LANParty UT series is not that expensive.
For a while they were at areound $130 for the 754 version and if I remember right the Intel boards are at like $150-160 apiece. So they can be pretty expensive

Those look like full sized PCIe slots, so I'd hazard to guess they made a real SLI solution and also a hacked one with a regular ultra chip. Then again, all the other SLI boards seem to need the switch PCB to go to SLI mode or not.

If their Ultra comes out mid-December as advertised (technically we're already there), I'll probably pick that up. The price should be pretty reasonable.

pfft,SLI.... in 12months theyll be some new super awesoma power card that outperforms an SLI setup without breaking a sweat.
*puts on flame suit*
