To clarify for anyone joining this thread:

If you have more than 4 SATA devices, or expect to later, BUY THE BOARD THAT THE OP LINKED. If you don't need 8 SATA ports, look for the SLI-D, not linked by the OP.

The bantering back and forth was actually somewhat entertaining to read. Anyone reading this thread can clearly see that the originally-linked board is the DR with 8 SATA ports, but none of that front-x crap and stuff. Either rise is just trying to get a rise (pun intended) out of Jace, or he really has a limited mental capacity. Either way it makes for fun reading!

Lmao, i was thinking the same thing solema when he said "yes, and you got an sli-dr without the r " he definitely tried to get a rise out of me, unless he does have a limited mental capacity :-\

Hmm this is tempting. I have an Asus K8V SE Deluxe with a 3200+.. I know it's a different socket. But is it worth it upgrading to this and getting a new cpu and what not?

I have the exact same setup as you. Is it worth it? Realistically no. Technically maybe.

It certainly doesn't justify the price/cost to redo a whole system just to go with the latest & greatest 939 socket..... unless you absolutely positively have to have the best of the best before the rest. :)

i have the same board, i'm upgrading. Mainly for the pci-e video card option, I've been holding out on buying a new AGP card.

How should the thread be updated? Perhaps by removing all of the posts where you stubbornly presented your erroneous conclusions as facts? :)

Sounds like a plan. I hope that this board works out for you - I wish I was in a position to get one too.

yes monarch now has it - the DLI-DR UT version - for $186 and it's also available with a CPU combo so you get a bunch of free games. The A64+ 3000+ OEM is $129 when purchased in a combo - good deal !

btw, does anyone know where to find the DFI SLI-D motherboard ? If it's significantly cheaper I would prefer it over this SLI-DR since I don't need the extra raid controller. But I couldn't find it anywhere online.

did a search on froogle and looked around prior to that. Basically there are no savings whatsoever between the Sli-D (Ut that is) and the Sli-dr (UT)... There are no savings between the Full Sli-D and full Sli-Dr as well.

Sli-dr all the way! :-D

fuck the bold SLI-D(R)... this board is the SLI-DR with less packaging going for $30 less.

Make believe example:
A Tsunami case comes with a psu for $100
A UT - Tsunami case comes with no psu for $70

cool , I knew it that all the morons that spell fvck with a v are just idiots. You proved you can spell it with a u, no problem.
