DFI LanParty Jr P45 T2RS reviewed

DFI was kind enough to send us a production sample of this board for review.

***link removed per mod request***

If you still care about the actual original topic of the post, then you should be able to dig up the review.

Looks like the board is a winner! I hope manufacturers continue to make high end mATX motherboards in the future.

Looks like Anandtech is turning into another THGF. So if I am a member of THG, which I am not thank god, and I post a link here from there will you block them too? Though I am not a member over there, I have been to such said blocked website and never has there been a censorship of your reviews on that site. Pathetic and immature if you ask me.

Back to topic. Yea that board looks awesome and definitely a consideration for me in the near future. I was wanting a M-ATX board that would be great for gaming and it looks like I just found it.

It's just not kosher to join a forum and link another website in your first post. This is a community, not a referral site.

Would the forum at that other site appreciate people from other sites joning just to increase pagehits? Doubtful.

Actually, OUR forum does permit it.

And to be blunt with you, I've been a member of the AT forums for a full 21months longer than you. I'm far from a new user with no post count here. 😉

The issue is not linking to other sites. The issue is promoting your own site, which can be construed as advertising. This is in violation of the forum guidelines.

If someone wants to drive traffic to their own site, there are ways to do that. Simple links in sigs are still allowed.

BTW, you want immature? Go to HardOCP and try to find a front page link to an Anandtech review. 😉

On a more personal level, I did read the review. I like the "layout" portion, though the photographer needs to do something about the flash reflection ruining the best picture (the overhead of the whole board). The solution is to use dedicated lighting from the sides and no flash. I did not like the conclusion. If testing is not finished yet, why post the article and give it a "Gold" award? This board is indeed special, but what makes it so is the promise of "DFI" overclocking in a small form factor along with Crossfire. Giving a "Gold" award and saying there will be a followup article regarding overclocking is like having a sports car review with pictures of the car and then saying "we'll tell you how fast it goes in our next issue." 😕

So, kudos for the site reviewing such an interesting product. As for the review itself... I rate it a 4/10, garnering a "Tin" award. 😀

Listen, to be frank with you guys this is all that happened:

The guy that wrote the review/article took the time to contact DFI, get a review sample, run the tests, compare them to other boards, double check his work, and then write it all up in a nice article.

Is it a PROFESSIONAL (i.e. PAID) review, heck no. It's a user that had a passion about something, and did his best to review the product. (and btw, your criticism is appreciated).

I thought that his work deserved a little recognition (especially since if you google that board, there are practically ZERO reviews of it), so I linked it here.

The intent WAS NEVER to site pimp X CPUs. There are far better ways to advertise the site than that.

Sincerely,
Brent Presley MD PhD (X CPUs Co-owner)

HardOCP has no problem with you posting other reviews in their forums though. It's not like he was trying to get it posted on the front page. He created a thread and linked a review, happens tons of times on other forums so you can have a discussion about the product and its review.
