DFI LanParty Claim

Yeah I just purchased a DFI LanParty board The DFI LanParty UT 250gb board to be exact. the front label on the box claims that the board scored 17000+ with 3dmark. I have a Athlon 64 3000 with 1gig of corsair XMS memory. I was wondering what the specs of the PC were that scored the 17000+ and with what 3dmark software. If anyone knows the answer to this please help!

Could be '01, 17000+ is not that special (I'm not into 3Dmock scores, but a P4 2.4 w/ 9700pro or something close would get that)

'03 or '05 would take some bada$$ system to get. Maybe an SLI / 6800U setup for 17000+ in '03. '05-I just don't see it happening.

Well the funny thing is AnandTech did the review. They stated that the "DFI board was the best over clocker" I know selling point, but I was just kinda curious because, like you I can 16000+ with 2001 and that is at stock settings but with 2003 I can only come close to 6000 points.

hmm... did a quick search on orb and there was no 17,000+ for any non-sli board...

wonder what they're talking about
