Yes, I am leaving my trusty Abit NF7-S R2 behind for the uncharted waters of the DFI Infinity Ultra. I want to play with some new gear and see what kind of o/c I can get out of my old 2500+.
Reading about this board at AMDMB forums is daunting, there are lots of problems it seems. But I see so few posts here about problems with the DFI. I did notice that most of the peeps reporting problems there are also doing EXTREME FSB o/c's, I'm talking like 250MHz+. Could this account for cold/warm reboot issues that I have read about there? I'm only planning on running at 220MHz or so on the FSB, will I be able to avoid these problems?
What about drivers? I have a nice remix that I've used with my NF7-S. Do I need to come up with another remix? Does the DFI play nicely with the NV audio drivers or do I need to use the Realtek drivers? The board has MCP-T so it should be ok to use the SoundStorm drivers but I just want to make sure.
And what about the SATA controller? The DFI has a SiI 3114 SATALink chip on it vs. the SiI 3112A SATALink on my NF7-S R2. Can I expect similar performance from it? I am not using a WD Raptor, I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB drive.
What about anything else I might not have considered? I'll take any advice or pointers you guys can give. Thanks alot for the help!
