The software for monitoring temps that came on the dfi cd says my temps are 28c idle and 29-32 onload c

im on a 3000+ oc'd to 2.4 267x9 and using xp-90 thermalrite and 92mm tornado, about half way on speed setting.

these bios temps accurate?

I have 49-50c idle(!) and I'm almost positive that it's wrong. I completely covered the HSF and ran a linux CPU burn-in app for 15 minutes. Heatsink got hot, but no issues. I think the sensors in this board are hit or miss. Time for some real-world tests and maybe a BIOS flash.

BTY, how do I see what BIOS version I have? Didn't see it.

I read somewhere that all Newcastle core CPUs inherently have issues reporting temperatures correctly and that it is not just a motherboard brand specific problem. It has something to do with the pins that actually connect the temp diode to the board from what I remember reading. Maybe someone else can back me up. Then again I may be totally wrong.
