I don't want to lose my nick. Can an exception be made? I'll donate to the white elephant pot maybe with some so-so ok good stuff. And I could use a 1.4 athlon also.
Suggestion if you get enough prizes include the winner in the hat drawing prizes just not the first consulation prize that prize seemed a bit worthwhile.

You don't need to give up your nick !!!!

When you go to the High Flyers section of DistributedFolding.org, you change your username not your handle. As a matter of fact, you can't get a different handle for a given e-mail address. You can make this change from any computer and only has to be done once at the website... no matter how many boxes you are running

This is a temporary change of username only. It doesn't affect the name you use in the AT fourms or the (permanent) handle of DF

When the Race is over, all you have to do is go back to High Flyers and remove the ATWE prefix from your username.

(reiteration: username is only a label for the DF stats sheets and can be changed at any time)

I also like the idea of the winner(s) being eligible for consolation prizes.... everything except the winner can only win ONE T-Bird! The other one needs to be assured to go to someone else. 🙂

I had a bunch of systems on D2OL, but can't afford to babysit them like their client requires. As the D2OL client dies on each system, I'll move them to DF, at least until D2OL makes a client I won't have to watch constantly.

NEED MORE RACERS ! This is a very happy client. It is like ECCP1 it can run by itself. I have it going on a K6-2 450 . Its running pretty good so far. This is a good project for slower machines. They say P2 minimum. Has anyone tried a P1 ? Can you let it crunch for weeks between dumps ? There are very few projects for slower machines anymore. This looks like a good one. We should have a dinosoar division for this race. I know you ECCP and RC5 people have some rigs that can do this. You should enter this race you might win a consolation prize. Is it the memory requirment of 128meg preventing the use of a P1?
 
Yes, you can use a P1 (non-mmx even) with DF. It is rather slow though... You might get by with less than 128 mb, though I have 128 on mine (I put windows 2000 on it, so it needs this much anyway, but it should work with <128 on 98). It'd be nice if those old-style machines would accept more than 128, then you enable extra memory and get double production. 😉
 
No, all you need to do, is put the ATWE in front of your username and I'll know to count you in! (you can change your username at any time)

There is a post (burried) in this thread that tells how if you need it!

I think it's 3 hours from the east coast to the west coast.... (I'm in Indiana... everybody knows we haven't a clue how to set our clocks 😕 )

so that would be 9am on the west coast.
