DF: What do i do?

Just wondering what i should do when the servers come back up? should i delete all my buffered sets? then let the DF client download new ones? i'd like to get some good numbers under my belt today 😀

in general, just let things run.

Don't delete your buffered sets, you get credit on folds made on the last protein for one week after the protein change.

Check back in the following day and make sure that all your clients are running smoothly. Generally, most of the changeovers go quite smoothly, though there's always one or two people who have a client go down on them.

For me the DF client seems to be "set it and forget it". Other than a few problems with power outages shutting down PC's while they were running I've had a smooth experience with DF. I just leave them run and monitor their stats. 🙂

I had a problem with the new patch. It wouldn't extract the new files without me renaming the foldtrajlite.exe to something else.

FYI this is what's in the whatsnew.txt file after the patch. Doesn't seem like much:

12/10/2002

- Solaris 32-bit version now support SunOS 5.6 and up
- Increased maximum buffer size when using -df option
- Added support for sampling with less atom bump-checking

Woo, I like this new protein, even though it's the same size as the previous one, my output just about doubled. 😀

Edit: More than doubled. :Q
