DF server down? Can't install client

I'm redoing a system that is a DF client. Well, I tried to install the DF service on it and it failed with a 1067 error. I tried running "foldit.bat" and got a error saying:

"Checking for newer versions...
SERVER DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE, TRY AGAIN LATER

Please try again later. Press Enter"

🙁

it is down for the weekly protein change, you need to wait for it to come back up and either re-install with the newer protein, or let it pull the update down

**EDIT**
it was up for about 3 minutes

**ANOTHER EDIT**

GACK!!! its down! 🙁

**EDIT**

Its up! anyone for yo-yo 😉

*holy cow*

its down! 🙁

its up!

The server ist back online.
The new prothein is pretty big.
average foldings/second are 3 times lower then with the old 53AA prothein.

I'm gonna miss the lil' one (53AA). Gone from ~3.10 struc/sec to ~1.67 with the new protien (111AA)

/me sighs 🙂

Hhhmmm....about half as fast....maybe time to do other more dubious acts for a little while....Bwwwwuuuhhhaaahhhaaaa!😀 Don't worry about me though I'll be back after causeing a little ruckus.😉

I guess we can judge the speed of the protien by how much RAM it's using? I was using about 120MB when I first started DF then the next couple were 60MB - 70MB. This one appears to be using 94MB.

For whatever reason my home XP client does not take the updates normally. I had to stop/restart the service and it's okay now. Hopefully my 8 work clients took it okay. :frown:

I don't know about the 4th one yet, but of the three I do know, two installed and kept on crunching, one had to be restarted ???

I think it's luck of the draw
