IS this acceptable practice...

I have 1 to 9 machines at work that are available for my to fold on (number of machines varies with workload), but they are behind a tough firewall. I've been running the machines, and they collecting the *.b2z files, the progress.txt, and the error.txt (all the files that update as I fold, basically) and e-mailing them to my home PC once a day, then I delete the files and start folding again. When I get home, I shut down folding on my home machine, copy those files into my distribfold directory, and run foldit.bat and the files upload.

This isn't considered cheating or anything like that is it?

It just seems like such a waste to have all those mhz sitting there running idle at work 😉

It's not cheating unless you don't have permission.

GET PERMISSION. YOUR LIFE AND JOB aren't worth losing!!

If you got permission, what you're doing is 100% fine.

what daweasel said

as far as sneakernetting with DF

the only files you have to copy are the filelist.txt and the log.bz2 and val.bz2 file pairs
if you move those files to your sending pc, they will go out just fine
crunch on!
