You know DF has always been my favorite DC project but now this was the last straw....

I've been using DF with the quiet option and I have a CPU monitor that tells me if the cpu is being used at %100. what happened was that some time ago DF got an invalid structure or something to the sort but instead of stopping it continued even though DF won't be able to use the structures being created and did 132 generations. And now with the updated client you cannot fix the filelist.txt file anymore so guess what my AMD64 crunched 132 generations for absolutely nothing... and I refuse to babysit this damm client, I have better things to do.

The thing is W T F does DF continue making generations knowing full well you will loose everything after the invalid structure. Fvck it I'm out. I'll continue to help with seti until phase I is finished and then jump over to something else.

Ouch man! Sorry to read that. I hope u give the devs of DF some feedback on that and tell them that they just lost a bigtime contributor to their DC project. So they at least get the chance to fix that error and prolly don't lose more ppl.

But your welcome in any other DC project! :D

it's sad to hear that... Try asking guys @ DF - maybe they will help you?

If not, screw it, and switch to other DC..

*hint*hint*
Switch to DPAD/ZETA/D2OL ;)

man that sucks, Nic
i enjoyed playing back and forth in the ranks with ya.
you will be missed.

my four clients havent had a single problem, at all.
i got burned out in phase I on this project
babysitting clients does indeed suck.
but ive had terrific luck (i guess, knock on wood) with phase II.

132 gens is *that* bad?
what is that like maybe 4 hrs on your A64? :p
im just kidding with ya.
;)
nice box btw.

just when i thought TADF was turning a corner...
well good luck to you and hopefully we'll see your return.

I've had that happen a couple of times. Have you tried running .\foldtrajlite -purgeuploadlist 1. Most of the time this will get rid of the first bad gen and upload the rest. I do wish they would fix this. I know how you feel though and don''t blame you for leaving the project the team will miss you.

the DF devs know about it... but just seem to ingore it since it doesn't happen that often.

But what they have to do is to set an option telling DF not to store completed generation or to stop the client once it encounters an invalid structure. If they fix it I will return... one day.

I had similar experiences, got pissed off, and all but stopped DF a while back. I recently decided to give DF another try, and now run DF only as a screensaver on several machines, just to keep the maintenance down. Since then, things have been OK.

It too bad though, as the team was just starting to pick up some speed...

I ran DF for a short while when it first came out, and had lots of strange crashes on my poor PC. I then switched it over to SETI and have never looked back. Thanks for sticking with SETI Andre, it's appreciated. And when SETI 1 is over, the Anandtech DPAD TeAm could really use your help...
