Welcome folders,

Well, there've been some confusion around the milestones... seems like people expects recognition for 6M - 9M milestones, so I'm drawing up a new milestone list.

Be sure to vote in the poll for what you want more the new way or the old way (linky).

Alright, let's get down to business then...

Today's milestone makers:

Insidious makes his 40M fold!

bfour completes 10M folds!

Them's it! Congrats, guys!

Statsman's stuck on yesterday, so no placement for RMS today...

Top Folder: TA TheMagicman with 87.4M folds! :D
Best RMS: Still be Kris, with 10.19!
Best Production: kmmatney takes it up a few notches, belting out a very nice 636K! W00t! ;)

Notable Producers Of The Day (NPOTD? NPOD? NPD?):

kmmatney 636K :p
Kris 576K :p
Insidious 416K :p

TeAm DF's having a not too bad week. 4 members in top 100 for weekly production: kmmatney, Insidious, kris, bfour.

TeAm Stuff:

Made some good movement today. Outproduced 17th by 1.5M! A that pace it'd be about 80 days to pass 'em by. Keep up the good work everyone! :D

Daily Production: 3.89M for the day, which is quite nice. That puts us in about...14th!

Been having a great few days! Let's keep up the great folding!

Thanks m0ti!

<--------- HEY I JUST NOTICED THIS...................... two milestones in the same day w00t  w00t

OK, Kris did his part..... now for you kmmatney....... I'm happily keeping a seat warm for you up here, but I think it would only
be appropriate for you to stop and have a beer on your way by me :p

I suspect I'll be making that same request of bfour in the near future.

YOU GuYz Rock!

It looks like we are at about 50% active folders.... Sure would love to see that ratio go up.....

I know you are reading this..... quit lurking and fold with us dagity-burnit! :D

I have a looong way to go before getting that beer!

I have about 12 GHz on DF, but a lot of the workload is screen saver only, so I never know what the production will be. Anyone have a ballpark figure of units/MHz for DF?

Try dfGui, or kdFold, etc.

They'llshow you what kind of production you're getting for the current protein.

if those boxen running screensaver are nt/w2k/XP , you might want to try installing the CLI version as a service, you will get much higher production

I have deal with the computers at work - screensaver only (except for me machine, and the 4 other boxes sitting in my office :D).
I did run the ECCp client as a service on a few machines, but it interfered too much with our software.

I'm not sure I can afford to run DF with the "use lots of memory option" if I run it as a service, whereas I can definately run it that way as a screensaver. Maybe I'll try running it as a service on one machine and see how it works out. I really am impressed by how the DF CLI hasn't interefered with any program so far.

I use VNC to control a few of the machines in my office. They just have power and a network cable - I use VNC software to control them from my main work computer. This is much better than using a KVM switch (although you need a motherboard tht won't stop on a missing keyboard). I'd recommended VNC software (freeware) for anyone wanting to build up a herd.

"Best RMS: Still be Kris, with 10.19!"

Looks like we have a new best RMS -sduguid with 10.143208 :D

I'm not too far back with 10.214968 angstroms.

How do you find what place this is overall?

How can Robor have all those generated structures but only a best RMS of 99.999001??

Robor hasn't done any folding on the current protein. That's why his best RMS is at 99.999...

He's done a lot of folding on previous proteins though!

We eagerly await his return from the Seti races...
