Hi there Folders,

Well the protein changeover has started. Remember you've got 24 hours to get full credit for all your folds, after that during the 24-48 hour period you're only awarded 1/2 of them, after that they're worthless. So make sure you get to every single computer!

Anybody know the new protein's size? My computer seems to have not downloaded it as of yet... I'll try restarting DF and seeing ... Hmm, nope server's still down. Oh, well, be a couple of hours then.

ATWE is not available at this time. Please check the number you have dialed, and try again.

Milestone makers

ATWE Terrahawk hits 1:Q:QM folds! :Q
ATWE FifthFactor hits 20M folds!

ATWE joinT hits 9M folds!:D:D:D:D
Tr3s Lunas hits 4M folds! :D:D:D:D
sean2002 hits 4M folds! :D:D:D:D
ATWE Rebel Alliance hits 3M folds! :D:D:D

Congrats to all of the milestone makers! :):D

FoBoT: Nice to see you finishing off the protein with some decent numbers. 7.3M folds for the day is good for 10th. :) Looks like your ending off the protein with an RMS of 8.11 (good for 43rd).

non-FoBoT:
Top Folder: Kris with 123.9M folds! :D
Best RMS: ATWE Terrahawk carries this one all the way past the protein change; 7.90 and still in 14th!
Best Production: ATWE Robor steals ATWE Terrahawk's thunder once more, cranking out an impressive 3.3M folds (good for 24th)! ;)

Producers Of the Day

FoBoT 7.3M :p
ATWE Robor 3.3M :p
ATWE bfour 3.1M :p
ATWE Terrahawk 3.0M :p
ATWE LastKnight 1.7M :p
ATWE Insidious 1.7M :p
ATWE ReaganCRW 1.1M :p

Congrats to the POD's! :p:p:p

TeAm Stuff

Some pretty nifty folding today, and indeed this past week. On the week we come in 3rd overall, a mere 26M behind Rechenkraft.net. That's less than 4M a day away. Still, we need to get our production higher if we want to make 3rd by year's end...

Daily Production: An outstanding 28.4M folds for the day, good for 3rd. We actually beat Rechenkraft.net today (by a good 4M at that), but Overclockers Australia decided to rain on our parade by taking 2nd (by 10M).

Great stuff today, and good luck to everyone with the protein changeover!

Hopefully, the protien change is going well for everyone.... it is running OK here so far.

as to the speed, I was at something like 3.4folds/sec on the old protien. And now I am running at 3.74 (that's only a 20 minute benchie so it may not be totally accurate), so it is a little faster.

Congrats to the Terrahawk guy! 100 MILLION! (That's a big one dude)

Have a great night everyone! :)

congrats to all MM's and the 100M for the hawk dude

the new protein is about the same speed, some say a little faster , some have reported a little slower

we can post up some benchmarks, but my gut feel is that this one is +/- 10 % of the speed of the last one

didn't we post a bunch of benchmarks after the last change? can anybody find that thread? i searched a little bit with no result

Distributed Folding Windows dfGUI v1.9 Benchmark

Sample Size : 15660 structures over 4340 seconds.
Protein Size: 108AA

Structures Per Second: 3.61
Structures Per Minute: 216.5
Structures Per Hour : 12990
Structures Per Day : 311757

OS : Windows XP MHz: 1761
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2100+
Client Switches: -rt -g 15 -s 999
------------------------------------------------------------

This machine was a pretty consistant 3.3+ f/s on the last protien.
My other comp is slightly faster (1775MHz), but has been comandeered for BF1942 at the moment!

Not too much difference here, but that probably stands to reason after the algorithm update and similar protien size.

Thanks guys!

Congratulations to the Milstone Makers and the Producers of the Day :)
It looks like I am going to have to execute one of my Emergency Strategies if I am going to keep up my hot hooning pace while I can't run my computers 24/7...

Will be updatink servers tonight. Da. ;)

Got the new client and everything seems to be working ok.

BTW, just spoke with TallBill (aka bob970) and he'll d/l the client and host it sometime today. Until then the direct links in the DF FAQ are to the old client.

I went to distributedfolding.org this morning to d/l the new client (like to have one for a back-up)

their site is giving out the new one now (came in at 230KB/sec)

-Sid

(if you are running as a service and happened to re-start a machine during the time when the servers were so busy
doing the updates yesterday, your client may not be running because it couldn't check your handle..... Be sure to check
to see if your client is running... re-start your computer if it isn't and all should be well.)

Mmmm... Looks like my fleet of DF machines likes the new protein. I'm going a little faster than yesterday. Also nice to see my machines apparently updated okay.

:D Congrats to Terrahawk on the 100M milestone! :D

Congrats to the POD's & MM'ers and thanks m0ti & Sid!

Oh, I added another Dell P4-1.8 today. :)

i got another DSL line in the other lab, so my "normal" production is now 90% real time, much less dumpage/work for me :)
that will give me more time to work with the remote boxen
