I am really looking forward to tonites episode. What will Doakes do now that he knows Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher? What will Lila do now that Dexter has dumped her?
Last weeks Dexter was Showtimes most watched original show ever.

'Dexter' Scores Killer Numbers For Showtime

"Dexter" broke Showtime records Sunday. The serial-killer drama starring Michael C. Hall drew 1.23 million viewers at 9 p.m. and a total of 1.63 million for the 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. runs.

This marks the most-watched episode ever for a Showtime series, with the 1.23 million single-airing haul surpassing the previous record of "Soul Food," which drew 1.21 million in 2004.

Viewership for Sunday night's episode of "Dexter" also grew an impressive 41 percent from the previous week.

I thought Dexter labeled each slide. If not, then couldn't Doakes get a dna test on the blood?

will there be a third season? But judging by the looks of it there won't be unless doakes is killed and the investigation is suspended in some way (found another suspect)

I'm not sure if Dexter labeled each slide or not...i'd like to know. Either way, it looks like the doakes-dexter conflict will be settled very soon.

With these ratings Showtime will certainly keep the show around for a while.

my prediction: dexter somehow gets someone else framed for being the butcher, another killer who deserves to be punished. Then he lets doakes go, and doakes tried to say something but he's dismissed as looney to begin with, so no one believes him

Then Dexter, Deb and Lundy engage in a threesome to celebrate the capture

Good predictions.
But, that last part is pretty messed up.

I'm not so sure about Dexter not killing Doakes - I thought he'd never do it, but they made it clear the rest of the rules 'make sure they deserve it, etc.' were there so that he doesn't get caught - rule #1.

Wonder how he's going to explain the limp.

Doakes said he put a GPS transmitter in Dexter's boat. When Dexter first saw Doakes at the cabin, I thought it was another one of his dreams where his mind was playing tricks on him.

Doakes said that he had put a gps tracker on Dexter's boat.

What I think will happen up to the finale:
I think Doakes is going to let slip somehow he killed some innocent when he was an assassin and that gives Dexter the excuse to kill him. Then Dexter chops him up, cleans up, disposes of him and Jimenez and returns to Miami saying Doakes kidnapped him and he got shot escaping. Doakes has "disappeared," keeping law enforcement busy indefinitely in searching for him, leaving Dexter in the clear to do his thing in the time being. I think Lily will become his new antagonist going into next season.

But, the show has thrown me for a loop or two before, so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm totally off.
