Devils give up Arnott, McKay in deal for Nieuwendyk

Can't decide if I like this trade. Well Arnott is younger than Nieuwendyk and Langenbrunner is overrated, imo. Plus we get a first round pick. Makes our centers stronger and wingers weaker. Well if they put Modano at winger to take advantage of his speed then I guess it was a good move.

Yes, I am but that was a joke. I enjoy watching hockey/going to the games but I admit I don't know a lot about it.

right on...sorry for the dry comment. ESPN has some games where they have "NHL RULES" and they explain a lot of the game during the broadcast. definitions of calls, penalties and the like. i didn't know much either when i first started watching...but i love it and know quite a bit now. 😀

Arnott has been coasting this year. And McKay is washed up! The draft is also very shallow this year so the first round is a wash. Most Devils fans love the trade on my board..

Nieuwendyk doesn't have long either. Great for your playoff run this year, but he is not a long term prospect either. So each team got something in the trade.

Yup, Dallas got more future stuff with a younger Arnott and a first round pick. Devils seem to have aimed for a run this year or next.
