I tried DMC3 on the pc and frankly, the control left a LOT to be desired. I used a gamepad and a mapping device and it was still pretty awkward. Hopefully it'll work better this time around, and I've got an xbox360 controller this time.

Onimusha3 on the other hand controlled pretty well, so I don't see why they can't make DMC work.

Unlike DMC3, Onimusha...etc.. this game much like Lost Planet was done by Capcom in house and not by some other dev group. The game looks great and with AA and AF looks better than the console versions. I am not sure though what DX10 does as I don't see much difference between that and DX9. New modes and better visuals make this the best version of the game. I'll sell my 360 copy for this one (which is $35 bucks if you pre order on gogamer).

Hopefully with Lost Planet: Colonies and DMC4 we'll see Resident Evil 5.

Lol wtf?

Size of installer: 843 MB
Size of installed game: 757 MB
Free space demanded on Windows drive to install: 2.8 GB!!!

Seriously, just to install, when the installer is finished you get the space back.

Game runs like a dream compared to Lost Planet and DMC3. Pair this on PC with a Sixaxis hooked up through USB, and the experience is better than it was on PS3 IMO.

Can you hook a plain sixaxis up to your PC through a USB port?

Do you need to have a controller to play? If not, what's the keyboard/mouse like?

I played it on the Sixaxis and had enough trouble pulling off some combos. I don't see the keyboard working that well.

Lol, the benchmark is half the size of the demo. What are the reqs for this?

Apparently, you can.

Edit:
OK, just finished the benchmark. Did two runs, DX9 and DX10.

Results:
DX9
Scene 1: 54 fps
Scene 2: 36 fps
Scene 3: 63 fps
Scene 4: 44 fps

DX10
Scene 1: 54 fps
Scene 2: 35 fps
Scene 3: 60 fps
Scene 4: 42 fps

DX10 mode has to be seen. It's a VAST improvement over DX9, very noticeable. Main thing is the shadows and lighting are way way better. This could be the DX9 VS. DX10 showoff game of the year.

Benched on the following components
Core2Duo 6300 @ 2.8ghz
2gb DDR2-800
Single Radeon HD3870 @ 769/1125

This is the first game I've seen that puts a full 100% load on my GPU. Not even Mass Effect or 3dmark Vantage does that!

It also called my system a "Grade C" and said there's "Low chance for Stylish Action". I've never been interested in the DMC series before, but man, this demo blows me away.

Awesome; I have to try this when I get home.

EDIT: Tried it...took a bit of tweaking but it worked in the end.

Yea,, seriously,, from the looks of it ,, Years of Coping with PS2 Processing power has made Capcom the wiz at designing great looking games with minimum drag on hardware.

From the looks of it,, The game has a very low Poly-Count, but Very high quality textures.

Even on my dated x1900xtx it looks GREAT. playing at 1920x1200 Average 60fps. SOLID No drops even during transitions.

Wish i Could play at my native though,, Just waiting for that sub 200 8800gts LOL.

You know what's odd about the ps3 controller to pc? For me, it worked and after I finished gaming, I unplugged the controller and usb cord... tried to play again a day later and it would not work. It'd show up in the control panel / game controllers.. but the buttons and analog sticks were not being registered at all.

Good thing I have a ps2-pc converter lying around (but it blows when it comes to online fighting games because of input lag).

...Wow :Q

I'm floored by how nice this looks and how well it runs (at the same time!). DX10 on an 8800GT at 1600x900 with 4xAA (I tried to select 1600x1200, but then it disappeared from the options [/i]). Ran the benchmark and got something like 70/56/108/44 (fps avg. in each of the scenes). Compare this to, say, UT3 where I get mysterious sub-30fps drops that happen in the same places no matter what details/options I disable...

I've never played any of the DMC games before, but I guess there's a first time for everything. :p Control was a bit awkward, but I could probably get used to it.

"ONLINE" fighting games,, You N00ber.. LOL..

Excited for BlazBlue, Hopefully since it's on Taito X2, which is basically XP Service pack 2, we'll get an HDD rip within a month or so of it coming out. Like the beatmania games.

You need a bigger monitor Dude. to Truely appreciate this game, The textures look even top notch on 25x16, Too bad I can only get 30fps at that res. :(

I have two 21" CRT's, and they're big enough for now. Unless you want to pay for me to upgrade. ;)

Hmm, I noticed CPU usage differences between DX9 (90%~100%) and DX10 (10%~50%). Anyone else? I'm using C2D and 9600GT.

Yeah, we'll have to have AT SF4 Tourneys :) But, uh, it's been a while since I played SF2 in the arcade...(15 years or so?)

Well, ok, but make sure you guys get the trainer to disable the timer on the DMC 4 Demo. Very important

Ok, finally got around to playing. That was fun.

The xbox360 controller worked flawlessly. I like how the gameplay isn't simple button mashing but has a nice level of depth to it.

Ran it at max rez (1680x1050) with max AA (16CQ or something), steady at close to 60fps on my 8800gt.

Looking forward to this one.

Thats already here, it's called the HD4850, and it is way faster then a 8800GTS.

(read the articles on anandtech homepage much?)
