It is me or does the head look like it's made up of the Mixer truck's barrel?

I noticed that too.

Here is the other picture that got leaked today. Its of a new character and a major spoiler. This is the main villian as far as I know.

Spoiler ahead...

Video of all the Autobot cars. That Corvette Stingray Concept (Sideswipe) looks absolutely sick.

Pics from Autoblog. More pics from Japlopnik featuring the Stingray Concept.

You're not missing much. I won't be seeing the second one, based on the first.

Based on the first one, I'll have to see this one immediately. And in IMAX. 😀

Except I won't be able to see it in theaters nearly as much as I had seen the first one.
I used to work at a theater, so while I saw Transformers collectively a total of 6 times in some form of theater, only had to pay twice.
Saw four times during initial theater run, no cost since I worked at the theaters and could see movies basically whenever I wanted, and with friends or family.

Then saw it at the drive in with a date, then saw it when it hit IMAX theaters that September.
Each time, was so badass. But the IMAX was the best, even when it wasn't filmed in the IMAX format whatsoever. Regardless, sheer beauty that was overwhelming as well.

It's relatively mindless action. But awesomely badass mindless action. Cannot see how anyone can dislike the movies, unless of you... you are boring and only like movies that vie for Oscars and cannot stand to watch action. 😛

further shows that there remains very little hope for the movie industry in decades to come. It's sad enough that studio funding is determined based on appeal to 4, yes 4 ridiculously defined niche audiences, to which no concept of quality is ever applied and the only concern is "how much money will this simpleton spend of mommy and daddy's money?"

When the Admen gained control of the film industry, bad things happened, and continue to. Until you guys realize that mindless action doesn't have to mean poor taste: shitty writing, horrible directing, horrible editing, exploitive cliche, etc...Those that actually love film, and can appreciate the good as well as the bad for what it is, will suffer.

Honestly, there is nothing good to have ever come from Michael Bay. Transformers 1 being a major example.

movies are entertainment. the only rating criteria i use to rate moveies is "Was I Entertained" Y/N

if Y then it was a success, i honestly cant remember the last movie i say that did not entertain me

Is it too much to ask that they set the bar higher than just entertaining? Transformers was a cherished part of my childhood, I don't want it to be passable I want it to be fucking badass.

There are plenty of other franchises that Michael Bay could have ruined, why did it have to be this one?

I don't believe any of the Constructicons have a drill. Based on the pic, the Constructicons are made of a dump truck, bulldozer, crane, mixer truck, excavator, and backhoe.

I don't think Bay ruined the Transformers franchise. He could have certainly made a better movie but it is a fair distance away from ruined. I'm hopeful for ROTF because the robots are supposed to get more screentime whereas alot of Transformers 1 felt like filler with the humans (especially the bits with the Australian chick and Anthony Anderson).

Plus 1 more, but I'm not sure what it is... 7 Constructicons for Devestator. This thing will be massive.

I don't think Bay ruined it either. The first movie was entertaining. Its not the old 80s Gen 1 Transformers and that's fine. If anything all the series after Beast Wars ruined the Transformers franchise. Bay, in a way, helped bring it back.

ROTF should have more screentime for the robots, but I bet there is still a lot of human stuff in it too. Its said to be darker and more epic compared to the first.

It looks like a mining drill for drilling hard rock and making tunnels. It could also just be more of the alien form and nothing from a vehicle.

Looks like a mechanized version of an alien from Alien.

Yeah it does. I'll go ahead and post who it is for those that want to know. If you don't want to know last warning.

Spoilers ahead

Its The Fallen. Its the same character that was seen on the poster that was released.

Hey KT, you have good taste in films, so I'll just throw this out there :

Transformers is not a great movie by any stretch. But as a pure brainless action popcorn flick, it's fine. I recommend it for a time when you're just in the mood to see a bunch of stuff moving around and exploding. The action sequences are frenetic and somewhat reminiscent of the chases in T2, another iconic action film (albeit T2 is obv. far superior as a film).

With films, you have to take them for what they are. You can't watch Office Space and be wanting Citizen Kain, and you can't watch Schindler's List and be wanting a Van Wilder type flick.

Oh give me a fucking break. Transformers delivered exactly what it was supposed to. Wow factor, explosions, cool looking transformers, and overall action.

Its not The Bridge on the River Kwai and isnt intended to be. Pull that cob out and enjoy the movie for what its supposed to be-- Mindless action and entertainment.

Thanks Ark. I do get that, but my Soundwave action figure was my second most prized possession, after my record player, when I was a kid, so I would hate to see my favourite show ruined by a crappy movie.

I imagine I should stop being a baby and just watch it, but I've seen so many childhood memories tarnished by crappy remakes and knock-offs, that I almost can't bear the thought of seeing another.

Yeah, to be fair, one can go back and check out those precious cartoons from childhood memory and see if there really is something "to be ruined."

There isn't. I freaking loved transformers as a kid. I adored the cartoon. back when I was 6, I thought that movie was the greatest thing ever. I thought it was surprisingly "adult."

I also grew up....

I think mindless entertainment is fine. But it doesn't have to be blatantly poor while passing inspection. A lot of that film was just too freaking sloppy and final cut should never have been released the way it was edited.

Then again, as long as the automatons keep shelling over their 8 bucks the studios won't care.

never, ever compare a Bay-directed chase scene to one by James Cameron. More than anything else, Bay's concept of chase scenes expose his absolute ineptitude when it comes to directing a well-paced action film.

Remember The Island? It was moving along swimmingly (surprisingly intelligent, no extraneously unnecessary fluff) until that fucking godawful chase scene that appeared out of nowhere. downhill from that moment on.

It did nothing to enhance the plot. It was added only to keep the mouth-breathing 24 and younger male demographic in their seats. effing ludicrous. I'm sure that at least half of that group would have stuck it through even without the chase scene.

Honestly, if Scarlet Johansen isn't enough to hold their attention then these troglodytes need to reevaluate their definition of "mindless entertainment."

I love mindless entertainment as much as the next fool. I don't like being fed shit and told it's cheetos, though.

There is a line between mindless action and fucking retarded film-making. If you can't distinguish that, then you have no hope of understanding where I'm coming from...and I really wish you'd stop encouraging the constant production of trashy cliched d-bag movies.

But I ain't gonna demand anything.

Holy crap, summed up my thoughts perfectly on that film. I remember saying out loud "what the fuck is this shit?" as I watched the movie. Completely destroyed an otherwise enjoyable flick.

There is a difference.. Babylon AD--horrible, Transformers--Awesome.

My standards are just lower I guess. I found it entertaining and watched it many times afterwards because it was great.

I saw the trailer at he cinema, looks so badass! I dint realise its due for release in June!!!

Im a big fan of the cartoons and toys 🙂
