There is nothing to get worked up over here, just conservatives slinging mud at Obama and displaying their hypocrisy in the process. Just like they do with health care reform, oil spill, etc, etc. They have no valid criticisms, have demonstrated track record of being unable to govern, so they just sling mud and play gotchas. Nothing new here.

Which is illegal if the job offered is for political considerations.

Not in primary elections. Read the law, general and special elections only.

Please point to what Federal Law you are deriving this exception from.:\

Otherwise you have again shot yourself in the foot by spouting off when the facts are against you just for the sake of partisanship.

He asked you to point to the law. Answer his question
-CITE-
18 USC Sec. 600 01/05/2009
-EXPCITE-
TITLE 18 - CRIMES AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
PART I - CRIMES
CHAPTER 29 - ELECTIONS AND POLITICAL ACTIVITIES
-HEAD-
Sec. 600. Promise of employment or other benefit for political activity

-STATUTE-
Whoever, directly or indirectly, promises any employment, position, compensation, contract, appointment, or other benefit, provided for or made possible in whole or in part by any Act of Congress, or any special consideration in obtaining any such benefit, to any person as consideration, favor, or reward for any political activity or for the support of or opposition to any candidate or any political party in connection with any general or special election to any political office, or in connection with any primary election or political convention or caucus held to select candidates for any political office, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both. (. gov Link)

I think the bolded section explains his reticence to link the applicable code. I do wonder about the italicized and underlined section, though; was the position offered established by Act of Congress?
