Devastating Op-Ed piece on Fox News and the MSM's response to Fox

The "so what" is it masquerades as legitimate news. Fair and balanced news even. If it was called what it actually is, the Fox Propaganda channel, then no one would have a problem. They are manipulating news, not reporting it. Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch both deserve to DIAF for the damage they are doing this country. This isn't about left or right, partisanship, or any other BS smokescreen defenders try to throw up to obfuscate the issue. This is about Fox exploiting and twisting journalism into a profit and special interest vehicle.

Silly drama queen lefties never cease to amuse! Don't like someone excercising their 1st amendment rights? They should DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111infinity.

I might just watch Fox tonite and buy some of their advertiser's wares just to piss off a few moaning bitches.

I'm not really sure that you could say any one channel is just a total mouthpiece for a certain party, but a person calling Fox News biased and then not accepting that MSNBC is biased just as bad shows a lack of objectivity on the matter. I remember watching Fox News a few years back and thinking I couldn't possible understand how such biased crap could make it on TV the way they couldn't even admit to G. W. Bush's glaring faults, but just flip on over to MSNBC these days and several of the commentators are just as unwilling to admit Obama has a single fault. I mean watching both stations it sometimes scares me how biased some of the commentators on BOTH stations can be without being thrown off the air for obvious impartiality. For example I was at a McDonalds a month or two ago when Sarah Palin was giving her speech to the tea party people and they had two TVs one on each wall and one was playing MSNBC and the other was playing Fox News. Watching the two stations coverage you would swear they were covering two completely different speeches. So far as Fox News was concerned this was pretty much like Jesus giving his sermon on the mount while the commentators at MSNBC were trying to hold back laughter as if all her comments were total idiocy and called her a liar on several occasions.

MSNBC is certainly Biased, but they stop short of being a Democratic mouth piece. They exist mainly as an alternative to Fox News, not that that makes them legit, but Fox News opened this can of worms and as such deserves the most criticism. Journalism would be best served without either of them existing though.

Fail

....except for the last sentence. Lucky shot.

Yeh, but it was idiocy and she is a liar...

Which is something that any unbiased journalist easily realizes...

One network, just one doesn't have their tongues jammed up Obama's ass and it's a fucking travesty.

Give me a break.

It was a travesty before Obama was even on the radar, where was your disdain for televised rimjobs the prior 8 years? I think it's telling that during that time, all the other actual news outlets attempted to clone Fox for ratings and access. The second Obama gets elected Fox does a complete 180, while the others continue to try and refine their Fox emulations. Some are there for money, some are there for politics.

I agree that MSNBC has gotten progressively worse, but even still, no other network has shown such a marked disdain for journalistic principles than Fox. Did MSNBC ever cut away from a Bush speech half-way through like Fox did with Obama's Baltimore Beatdown?

I keep regular tabs on the main news channels, and while I generally disapprove of and ridicule the likes of ABC and CNN, I can't bring myself to liken them to Fox. It's like comparing apples to asteroids.

What's funny is all the stodgy supposedly virtuous journalists still get their rocks off with weepy human interest stories.

I would join this terrible opinion piece in deriding Fox because the main point is correct: that Fox News is terrible. However the other networks seem to simply be trying to do the same thing but continuously fail to make it as effective. The traditional newsroom has been dying for a long time. Fox figured it out and cobbled together a business model that could at least make some money while passing itself off as News (to some). Everyone else seems to just be a combination of jealous and offended. It's hard to empathize.

😀

Fox "news" viewers suffer from battered wives syndrome - no matter how much it talks down to them, belittles them, they still cling to its pant leg and protect it like a loved one...

/fox only hurts me, because it loves me...

Your talking about the network that put it's two most partisan commentators in charge of the conventions last year (Matthews and Olbermann) and employs a commentatory who admits getting a tingle running down his leg every time Barry Sotoro Obama speaks. Contrast that to FOX who put their reporters in charge of convention coverage.

And FWIW, CNN opened this can of worms years ago when it was informally known as the Clinton News Network.

ah, yes, CNN, the network that couldn't stop talking about the Clinton Blow Job....

\and my first turn away from broadcast news...

Fox News is 24/7 Republican talking points.

Fox News is 24/7 Republican talking points.

Are you insane? Republicans have no talking points!

Fox News drives the Republican Party more than the Republican Party drives Fox News.

But come on, be serious for a moment. It's not what Fox News broadcasts that has you or the Washington Post writer upset - rather the percentage of Americans who prefer Fox News over other outlets.

That just makes it worse. Propaganda has become preferable to News. Not a good situation.

This is all just a crybaby journalist not willing to accept the consequences nor admit the true cause.

If the liberal bias had not been so unbelievably ruthless against Bush, other Republicans, McCain, and yes especially Sarah Palin - Fox News would *not* be where it is today. Fox News is popular in large part because of the failure of the other media outlets, and now this guy wants to cry foul?!!

Then they should do something about it. And the solution is not to insult those who watch Fox News. Insult those who attend Tea Party rallies.

The solution should be to incorporate more conservative opinions in their own media products. If they don't do that, it will be difficult for any of these declining outlets to recapture the audience they've lost to FNC.

I'd say you're wrong - simply because it's so easy now to see those fixated on their rage - they love the man who beats them, everyone else can see it for what it is...

/the pity I do feel for them...

Actually I'll go back to this once again. Take the stimulus package for example.

A year ago I wanted to know what was in the stimulus package and how it would affect me.

I turn on the network news, and they run the story that the stimulus package is designed to create or save 3.5 million jobs, give tax cuts to 95% of working people, and fund shovel-ready infrastructure projects.

I open up the newspaper I still receive daily, and they run the story that the stimulus package is designed to create or save 3.5 million jobs, give tax cuts to 95% of working people, and fund shovel-ready infrastructure projects.

I turn on Chicago's WGN radio, and they run the story that the stimulus package is designed to create or save 3.5 million jobs, give tax cuts to 95% of working people, and fund shovel-ready infrastructure projects.

I turn on CNN, and they run the story that the stimulus package is designed to create or save 3.5 million jobs, give tax cuts to 95% of working people, and fund shovel-ready infrastructure projects.

I turn on MSNBC, and they run the story that Republicans do not want American citizens to be employed.

I turn on Fox News, and only they dug in to the specifics of what was in the stimulus package. If they're running it with a slanted vision, well, I really didn't have many alternatives.

So which news outlets again are the ones running talking points?

The ones you really chose to listen to?

/the rage is a beast that's never quite fed....

What is the typical lefty response again? Oh yeah:

Fail.

Silly hypocrite lefties didn't seem to mind the BDS induced rage on display during the prior administration.......Oh, but that was well deserved rage, Obama and his Democrat Congress are as pure as the driven snow and above any criticism.

You are as pathetic as those you allegedly pity.
